New LM56 Fixed Head Mower with Independent Arm Grass Catcher
The Baroness Greens Mower offers a level of precision second to none, while allowing the superintendent the ability to raise the cutting height without sacrificing green speed. With the crisp cut that the Baroness mower is well known for in Japan, this mower takes a lot of stress off the turf, helping to reduce the amount of disease in the putting surfaces.

The design of the Baroness Greens Mower utilizes die cast aluminum to reduce the overall weight of the machine, thus helping to maintain healthier greens. An optional Groomer, De-Thatcher or Brush unit are available, all of which are are bi-directional for light grooming, de-thatching or brushing with the forward direction, and a more vigorous operation with the reverse direction. Each attachment can be removed and replaced within ten minutes.

An unparalleled ease of maintenance puts the Baroness Greens Mower at the top of the technician's "most loved" list of mowers to work on. The machine can be totally stripped down in less than an hour, and completely overhauled in four hours.

With over thirty years experience manufacturing reels and bedknives to stand up to the hard and stringy Korai Zoysia used on greens in Japan, we can stand by our word when we say that you will not find a longer lasting edge on any other greens mower.

An Independent Arm Grass Catcher on the Baroness LM56 brings the balance of the mower back between the front roller and rear drum. This design disperses the weight of the clippings onto a separate roller for a consistent height of cut. Another benefit is that it is not as crucial that the grass clippings are emptied continuously, since these now have no direct effect on the height of cut. Since the grass catcher doesn’t directly affect the cutting head, the Baroness LM56 can now mow over more undulation than previously thought possible.

While the Baroness brand of turf maintenance equipment is relatively new to North America, it has been produced by Kyoeisha Co. Ltd. of Japan since the development of its first greensmower in 1959. Kyoeisha was founded in 1910 as a manufacturer of machinery for various agricultural segments.

In the ten years following the introduction of the first Kyoeisha greensmower, Kyoeisha designed and started the production of its next three lines: the GM, HM and the Trencher Series, becoming known nationally as a turf maintenance specialty company. In 1978, the first Baroness 5 reel hydraulic-driven tractor mower was released and helped the Baroness brand become very popular with golf courses in Japan.

During the development of the original greensmower, second-generation company president Mr. Kaichi Hayashi pioneered the process used to strengthen mower reels, a process that is still used to this day.

In 1983, Kyoeisha started exporting mowers to England under the brand name Saxon. Over the next several years the Baroness line of greensmowers became well renowned in the UK. Several high end golf clubs, like Loch Lomond, now use the Baroness gear-driven greens mowers.

From 1983 to the present day the Kyoeisha’s yearly sales have increased from $30 million to $65 million. The product lineup has increased from 39 products in 1983, to a total of 65 products today.
