THE FINEST BENTGRASSES IN THE WORLD

Tee-2-Green is the exclusive marketer of the Penn bentgrasses, the finest bentgrass seed available for golf course greens, fairways, and tees. Developed by Penn State University and grown exclusively under the most stringent standards for purity by the Penncross Bentgrass Growers Association of Oregon, the Penn bents are known and trusted worldwide by superintendents who demand the highest quality seed.

From charcoal growing to hand roguing of contaminants, the experienced Penncross growers and their families go to great lengths to meet and even exceed the rigorous Oregon State testing standards established by Dr. Joe Duich. They take tremendous pride in the quality seed they have been providing to golf courses for over 50 years through Tee-2-Green Corporation.

First developed in 1955, the Penn family of bentgrasses is the end result of Professor Burton Musser's Penn State University research and development program, which was aimed at breeding a creeping bentgrass variety for golf course greens that would withstand summer heat, aggressively crowd out Poa annua and other weeds, and tolerate disease.

The program ultimately gave superintendents world famous Penncross still the most popular bentgrass anywhere. Penncross exhibited the seedling vigor, aggressive growth, disease resistance, ability to tolerate diverse soil types and thrive at low mowing heights, and overall beautiful appearance and color that superintendents needed and players demanded.

Today, with over a dozen varieties to suit varied climate and conditions Penncross and the newer Penn bents like Penneagle ll, PennLinks ll, the Penn A's and G's and new Crystal BlueLinks are specified by golf course designers as well as superintendents at both high-end private golf clubs and small municipal courses alike. That's because the Penn bents give them superior growth characteristics, great appearance, and playability that can only come from Tee-2-Green.
