California OK’s Syngenta’s Heritage G fungicide

Syngenta’s Heritage G fungicide has been approved for use in California.

A systemic strobilurin fungicide, Heritage G is granular formulation made with DG-Lite, which allows the active ingredient to disperse quickly with minimal watering-in.

Heritage G can be used on golf course turf to control many fungal diseases, including anthracnose, brown patch, gray leaf spot, leaf spot, nectrotic ring spot, pythium, red thread, snow mold, summer patch, snow mold and take-all patch.

Registration is open for the 34th annual New Jersey Green Expo Turf and Landscape Conference.

The event is scheduled for Dec. 8-10 at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City.

DuPont seminars target bluegrass weevils, other pests

DuPont is sponsoring a series of informational seminars designed to educate golf course superintendents about some of the latest research concerning control of annual bluegrass weevil, grubs, cutworms and caterpillars.

The DuPont ProBusiness Exchange Weevil Symposiums include seminars Oct. 9 at Sewickley Heights Golf Club in Sewickley, Pa., Oct. 21 at Tumblebrook Country Club in Bloomfield, Conn, Oct. 22 at DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, Del., and Oct. 23 at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, N.J.

Speakers include Pat Vittum, Ph.D., of the University of Massachusetts, Paul Heller, Ph.D., of Penn State University, Chuck Silcox, Ph.D., of DuPont and Steve McDonald of Turfgrass Disease Solutions.
