Winter injury comes in many forms and can wreak havoc on golf courses in various climates around the country. Understanding the different types of winter injury that can occur is important for both preparing for and recovering from damage that may occur.
In this TurfNet University webinar presented by Lebanon Turf, Paul Koch, Ph.D., of the University of Wisconsin, will focus on abiotic forms of winter injury including crown hydration, ice encasement and desiccation.
The primary risk factors for each form of winter injury and strategies to prepare for each will be discussed. In addition, recommendations for assessing the extent of winter injury in the spring and developing a recovery plan will be provided.
