Job Summary Wasatch Peaks Ranch is a private golf and ski community being developed in northern Utah. Essential Job Duties (Summer Season): The 2nd AGCS, under the direction of the Assistant Superintendents and Golf Course. Superintendent, supports and participates in the daily maintenance of the golf course and grounds. Supports the scheduling and oversight of maintenance and construction field tasks. Instructs equipment operators and greenskeepers on the proper operation and care of all maintenance equipment, ensuring all equipment is cleaned and stored properly and maintenance facility is kept clean and organized. Assists in evaluating general turf conditions and provides insight into operating irrigation central control system and setting daily watering schedule. Performs moisture management and hand watering as needed, and advises direct managers of moisture needs. Troubleshoots irrigation problems and participates with repairs as needed. Performs pesticide and fertilizer applications, including proper calibrations of application equipment and record keeping. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Job Duties (Winter Season): Participates in snow removal for designated areas on roadways, facilities, parking lots, and homes. Performs minor building maintenance, repair, and upkeep (painting, organizing, cleaning). Discuss and plan maintenance schedules, tasks, and protocols for the upcoming season with the Golf Course Superintendent and assistant superintendents.

Thorny Lea Golf Club is a Wayne Stiles/John Van Kleek design established in 1900 but the current design is from 1925. A parkland style golf course situated in the city of Brockton, Thorny Lea is a hidden gem. Touted as having one of the best golfing memberships in the state; the club has many past state tournament winners along with a past women's mid-amateur champion and a men's mid-amateur champion.   The successful candidate can expect to work closely to the superintendent and other assistant(s) to achieve the goals set for that day. In the event the superintendent is away from the property, the assistant will help with managing the golf course. This is not only a supervisory role since we are a smaller operation. The assistant will be expected to be able to manage the crew while performing other duties such as course set up, water management (hand watering) or product application. Extended hours can be expected during the growing season (April - October), and a more flexible, relaxed work schedule during the winter months. A master plan was completed for the course in 2015 with Ian Andrew.  We have been implementing portions of the plan since 2016.  In fall of 2022 we completed a full bunker renovation with Better Billy Bunker liner.   A new Toro 2 wire irrigation system was installed and finished in 2020.  The club is committed to doing master plan work every year.  We are constructing 9 new bunkers this fall and have over a million dollars of work out to bid to be completed in the coming years.

Fulfill administrative duties timely. ·       Administering all aspects of the BrightView Safety Program and the BV360 Management Program ·       Representing BrightView Golf Maintenance in a positive and professional manner including attitude, appearance, and public relations. ·       Meeting or exceeding external and internal customer expectations. You might be a good fit if you have: ·       Experience in golf course management and turf culture preferred. ·       A degree or advanced knowledge of agronomy, horticulture, plant or soil science preferred. ·       Must obtain and maintain state sanctioned pesticide applicator license within 6 months of entry into this job.  And while not mandatory, it would be great if you also have: ·       An awareness of the construction, establishment and maintenance practices employed on golf course putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs and bunkers. ·       Aptitude for administrative and executive responsibilities including effective oral and written communication skills and computer proficiency. ·       Familiar with the characteristics and proper use of fertilizers and soil conditioners. ·       Knowledge of irrigation including watering practices, irrigation systems, pumps, wells and automatic controls and drainage. ·       Able to prepare the course for play in accordance with the rules of golf. ·       Able to evaluate the course from the player's perspective. ·       Valid driver's license.
