 The club was founded in 1916, and a 9-hole golf course was constructed.  In the early 1920’s Donald Ross was hired to redesign the previous nine holes and add an additional nine holes.  The golf club was built on 120 acres of rolling, natural terrain that Ross incorporated into his hole layouts which remains a testament to his vision today.  Since becoming a private club in 1989, the course has undergone a total restoration, all in the Ross tradition.  Forse Design has remained the club's architect since 2001 and will continue with our update to the master plan.  The property consists of an 18-hole golf course, a driving range with artificial mats, and 2 practice green areas.  Greens are pushup style with Poa/bent.  The Green’s department is responsible for the upkeep of clubhouse grounds.  The club has retained Golf Water as our irrigation consultant as we work towards our irrigation upgrades.  Rain Bird IC irrigation system will be completed in the Spring of 2025.  A New Watertronics pump station will be installed in the Spring of 2025.  The 2nd Assistant Superintendent will work directly with the other Assistants and Superintendent on planning and supervising all aspects of maintenance on greens, tees, fairways, rough, native areas, and bunkers.  The 2nd Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for fertilizer and chemical applications.  The 2nd Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for managing daily crew assignments through a digital job board.  Understanding of local Diseases, pests, and weeds that affect poa/bent playing surfaces.  Knowledge of water management practices to create firm and fast conditions.  Strong organizational skills are required for the position. Isleworth Golf and Country Club is an 18-hole private facility located outside of Orlando Florida. We are number 13 on the Platinum Clubs of the America list. Home to many PGA, LPGA, and Senior Tour members, we pride ourselves in providing tournament conditions on a daily basis. We are currently in the process of replacing 90%of our equipment fleet.  The course underwent a total greens and bunker renovation, turf replacement of tees, fairways and rough, and implementation of naturalized areas to reduce turf and conserve water in 2024. We have plan to continue improvements to driving range and short game practice area. A brand new pump station was installed in 2021, and all irrigation lines were replaced with HDPE in this process as well as new Toro heads and controls for the system.   The position is designed to strengthen the candidate's skills and prepare them for advancement in the turfgrass industry. AIT will work closely with the superintendent and his assistants in all aspects of course maintenance. Areas of intense training will include chemical and fertilizer applications, irrigation scheduling and maintenance, scouting, tournament and daily course preparation and routine maintenance. AIT has the opportunity to experience all aspects of a high-level maintenance operation with a staff willing to answer all questions and share valuable information. Qualifications: A 2 or 4 year degree in Turf Management is preferred but not required. Minimum 2 years of golf course maintenance experience. Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends. Help diagnose specific diseases and treat insects that affect critical areas of the courses. As well as identify and treat unwanted vegetation, using both preventative and curative methods. Spray prescribed amounts of fertilizer, insecticide, herbicide and fungicide when needed. Assist Superintendents with correct calibrations of all spray equipment. Maintain daily spray records. Must have or be able to obtain a Florida pesticide applicators license. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a drive to succeed in a fast-paced team environment, with the understanding of the commitment it takes to maintain a premier golf course daily.  The AIT will be an important member of the turf management team and will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to advance their career in the golf course maintenance industry.

Metropolis Country Club was established in 1922. The original 18 hole golf course, designed by Herbert Strong, was later expanded when the noted golf architect A. W. Tillinghast redesigned the course. In conjunction with Forse design, the club completed a large scale restoration project (2014-2020), returning the course to its original design intent.  Over the last 3 years the infrastructure of our operation has all been upgraded, a new irrigation system and pumphouse project was completed in 2023 and we are currently wrapping up the construction of a new, state of the art, turf care maintenance facility. The club is currently constructing an entirely new front entrance with upgraded utilities, while progressing through planning for a new parking lot and employee house project, scheduled to begin this year. Scarsdale Golf Club is a private country club located in Westchester County, New York.  Established in 1898.   SGC offers an 18-hole A.W. Tillinghast golf course, practice facilities, tennis/paddle facilities including a new seasonal tennis enclosure, bowling lanes, pool facility and fitness center.   The 2nd Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent and other Assistants in all aspects of golf course management.  The candidate should have a passion for the industry and a willingness to learn all aspects of the country club business as part of a management team that strives to produce an exceptional member experience on a daily basis.   The club has invested in several major capital improvement projects in recent years, including a new state of the art maintenance facility and a new Toro irrigation system that was completed in spring 2024.  Many more golf course improvement projects are planned for the coming years.   Several former SGC Assistants have successfully moved on to Superintendent positions in the Met area after their time at the club.

Liberty National Golf Club is looking for a 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent with an exceptional work ethic and a desire to improve the golf course. Liberty National Golf Club is an 18-hole, private golf club located in Jersey City-just along the Hudson River and in view of the Big Apple’s sparkling skyscrapers. The club opened in 2006 and has since hosted several PGA tournaments, including the Presidents Cup, the FedEx Cup playoff events and most recently hosted the inaugural LPGA Mizuho Americas Open in 2023 and will host the event again this May of 2025. Liberty National will also host the 2027 BMW Championship. Liberty National and Golf Course designer Tom Kite started a two-phase course renovation project in the fall of 2024 with the goal to reconfigure greens and tee box's to gain more pin and teeing surfaces. Also to reconstruct all the bunkers with Better Billy Bunker. Phase 2 will began in the Fall of 2025. The position will work closely with the management team to maintain the club daily to meet championship level conditions. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: pesticide and fertilizer calibration/applications; irrigation repair/operation, including proper moisture management; and supervising and assisting maintenance staff in daily duties. The position also includes opportunities to volunteer for various tournaments. The candidate will gain experience in tournament preparation leading to the 2025 Mizuho Americas Open. Wapika Ranch, a private working ranch and family retreat, is seeking a qualified full-time 2nd Assistant Golf Course and Grounds Superintendent. The existing nine-hole golf course is located at 6925’ elevation in a remote rural area on the upper Green River 20 miles south of Pinedale, Wyoming.  The Golf Course Architect is Carl Thuesen and the par 36, 3652-yard design utilizes the Green River and its tributaries, natural wetlands, irrigation ditches, and 4 ponds to create a unique test of golf that is both challenging and playable for all golfers. The Ranch also includes a Fishing Village, a Riding Arena, and a Children’s Barn along with extensive landscaping at each facility. The Ranch is in the process of constructing an additional nine-holes. Construction began on the ‘Moose 9’ in July 2024 with a projected completion date of November 2025. Pinedale is the gateway to the Wind River Range, Wyoming Range and the Jackson Hole Area, including Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.  Wyoming is an outdoors state with low property taxes and no state income tax.  Both winter and summer outdoor recreation activities abound in a small-town atmosphere.  Responsibilities: The 2nd Assistant, under supervision of the Golf Course Project Manager and the Golf Course Superintendent, will be involved in all advanced aspects of golf course construction and establishment of the new 9 holes. The 2nd Assistant will also be involved with the everyday operation of the existing golf course and grounds. After construction is complete, the 2nd Assistant will continue with the Golf Course Maintenance staff.  Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring the golf course construction specifications, fertilizer and chemical applications for establishing the new holes, and participating in operation and programming of the irrigation system.
