This key role involves overseeing the maintenance and management of the course’s extensive equipment fleet to ensure that all machinery is in optimal working condition. Reporting directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and Director of Grounds, the successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the equipment that keeps our courses in top shape. Course Information: The Oaks, designed by Greg Martin, stretches over 6,736 yards with a par-3 emphasis. The course features bentgrass greens, tees, and fairways, offering a country club experience with thick rough and true-rolling putting surfaces. Recent renovations include the installation of Better Billy Bunkers in 2022, enhancing both playability and maintenance. Key Responsibilities: Ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition and available when needed for course maintenance. Oversee the operation and maintenance of all machinery used in course upkeep, including Toro mowing equipment, carts, tractors, diesel engines, hydraulics and small engines. Manage equipment inventory, maintain appropriate parts levels, and ensure the maintenance shop is clean, safe, and well-organized. Assist with the intake of new equipment and manage the equipment budget, monitoring costs and recommending corrective actions as necessary. Foster positive working relationships with course staff, vendors, and equipment personnel. Train and mentor staff on proper equipment use and maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities Repair and provide all required preventive maintenance on all equipment associated with Course Maintenance Department. Solely responsible for the quality of cut at the golf facility. Perform regular preventive maintenance and repairs on golf course equipment, including mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, and small engines. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues to ensure timely and efficient repairs. Maintain accurate service records for all equipment. Assist in the inventory management of tools, parts, and supplies. Establishes and maintains safety procedures for using equipment. Performs general overhaul and other preventive maintenance on all equipment. Maintains blades of reel mowers. Maintains inventory of common equipment maintenance and repair parts. Undertakes body and fender work, fabrication, welding, troubleshooting and repairs to hydraulic and electrical systems. Communicates and reports any needs or problems relating to course equipment. Attends staff meetings. Ensure that all traffic lanes are kept clear. Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Golf Course Director / Golf Course Superintendent. Maintains the mechanic’s shop area in a clean, organized, and safe fashion daily.
