By Morris County Golf Club, - updated January 27 - Morristown, New Jersey
Morris County Golf Club is a classic 18 hole golf course designed by CB Macdonald/Seth Raynor. The club itself was established in 1894, with its current layout of holes being finished by Raynor around 1916. Our goal in the grounds department is to create a partnership with an individual that wants to learn more about the turf industry and the day to day needs for golf course turf managment. We intend this to be a true partnership of respect and opportunity for growth. We know an intern can become a valued part of our management team thorughout a summer season and we want to support an individual through that experience no matter what their current skills are. A summer intern can expect to learn more about applications (fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, etc.), mowing practices, course setup, tournament preparations, cultural practices, business management, project management, moisture management, and crew/team leadership. We also have a recently updated world class maintenance facility that includes renonvations thorughout our existing areas alongside brand NEW adminstration and environmental buildings. I am excited for what Morris County Golf Club has to offer potential interns in regards to quality of work life, hands on experience, and project management. All of our current goals and projects will be culminating in the exciting opportunity to host the 2026 NJ State Open, and we are looking for the right candidate to work alongside us towards our goals. Every season our goal for an intern is to allow freedom and flexability so they can focus in areas where they feel they need additional exposure and training. If you are looking to gain something specific out of the upcoming season please feel free to reach out and see how we could work together.

By Lookaway Golf Club, - updated January 13 - Buckingham, Pennsylvania
ABOUT LOOKAWAY GOLF CLUB Lookaway Golf Club (LGC), founded in 1999, boasts quite a history. The property itself dates to 1713, when it was deeded by William Penn (Deed #1 in Buckingham Township, PA) to Thomas Watson of Yorkshire, England. The building that serves as the Lookaway clubhouse was built sometime around 1752 and is believed to be the oldest building used as a clubhouse in the United States. Over the course of the next 170 years, the property changed hands several times. In 1923, Theodore W. Sterling purchased an active dairy farm, known then as Paxon Farm. Mr. Sterling renamed the farm Lookaway and was well known to locals as a source of providing fresh milk. That milk was provided in bottles sporting a logo comprised of the entwined initials of the farm’s owner, Mr. Sterling. The logo remains as the symbol of the Lookaway Golf Club where the first rounds of golf were played in May of 1999. Lookaway Golf Club offers pure golf in a rural setting, designed by internationally respected architect Rees Jones. The championship course, acclaimed by Golf Digest magazine as one of the top ranked courses in Pennsylvania, encompasses 230 acres and is defined by seclusion, tranquility, and a dedication to a unique golf club experience. Lookaway is a golf only club focusing on optimal playing conditions while averaging 14,500 rounds annually. The interns will work closely with the superintendent and assistants on a daily basis in all facets of golf course maintenance. Daily tasks will include, but not limited to: course set-up, hand watering, mowing, fertilizer/pesticide applications and calibrations, irrigation maintenance and repair, weed and disease identification and management, and insect monitoring and management.
