  Brook Hollow Golf Club Summer Internship Brook Hollow Golf Club, founded in 1920, is one of the preeminent private member-owned golf clubs in the southwestern United States. Brook Hollow has hosted significant golf tournaments, including multiple Trans-Miss championships, the USGA Mid-Am, and many USGA and Texas Golf Association championships/qualifiers. We are also in the clearing & shaping phase of the Kyle Phillips designed North Course AND we have also broken ground on our Short course which will consist of 60 acres & 12 holes.   APOGEE is a passion project presented by two highly successful businessmen, Mr. Michael Pascussi & Mr. Stephen Ross. APOGEE is currently in the construction phase with plans to construct three, 18-hole golf courses, two short courses, a Himalayas-style putting green & two driving ranges over 1200 acres. The West Course, designed by Gil Hanse & Jim Wagner opened in December of 2023. The Fazio/Davis course recently opened along with the main driving range that encompasses over 55acres, has 360* of tee space, 7 acres of short game area & will be regarded as one of the finest practice facilities in the country. All courses have been blanketed with TifTuf turf & TifEagle greens. Rainbird IC irrigation will be utilized on all courses along with John Deere equipment.  The West Course Turf Care Facility is now fully operational & construction of the East Turf Care Facility has begun construction with an opening date of late summer 2025. In 2022, the golf course was closed for putting green reconstruction and conversation to Tif-Eagle berumda grass. Nantucket Golf Club is a private and exclusive golf club located on an island 30 miles from Cape Cod.  Nantucket has been continuously ranked as the ‘best island’ and ‘top island’ of the US and World. We began our irrigation replacement project (Toro 2-wire system) after Labor Day, with planned completion by May of 2025. We began to restore our irrigation pond on our 8th hole in the Spring of 2024 and will complete that project this fall. Proficient on a variety of equipment with the ability to properly demonstrate equipment use to co-workers. ·         Monitor soil conditions using POGO sensors, hand-watering as needed. ·         Perform sprayer and spreader calibration and application of fertilizers and pesticides. ·         Maintain application records related to the use of chemicals on the course, while tracking chemical inventories. ·         Daily course set-up and club tournament preparations. ·         Constant monitoring of the turfgrass systems during the growing season, ensuring the proper water, nutrient, and disease prevention levels. ·         Project coordination and crew leadership on a variety of tasks associated with assigned golf holes. ·         Other duties as assigned.   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Works closely with the seasonal maintenance staff, ensuring proper and safe use of maintenance facility and equipment, and will occasionally supervise a small team for specific projects especially on assigned holes.  The Intern must be a self-starter, willing to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, holidays and diverse tournament schedules.  While overtime is always offered, Yellowstone Club strives for a work-life balance, offering two days off per week throughout the internship.

Shoreacres was founded in 1916 and currently ranked in Top 100 golf courses,  is located on the Northshore of Chicagoland,  in Lake Bluff, Illinois. A short distance from the Club in Lake Forest is where CB McDonald introduced the game of golf to America, on what is now preserved public land. The founding members consisting of Chicago's elite businessmen, acquired the Lake Michigan shoreline property with intentions of building a quiet understated club to escape the busy Country Clubs they were members of already. They hired Seth Raynor to build the golf course which was completed in 1921 and is often considered to be of his greatest works and possibly the finest land of any golf course. Shoreacres consists of unique glacial ravines throughout the property in which the routing sits impeccably using many of the famed Template Holes with many Raynor original designs throughout. The original 450 feet of shoreline frontage to Lake Michigan consists one of golf's great clubhouses designed by David Adler with a view that is second to none. Shoreacres will  be host of the 2025 Jackson T. Stephens Cup, a prestigious  collegiate tournament, memorializing the late Augusta National Chairman and his love for amateur golf. The tournament will take place September 15 -18, 2025.  New for the 2024 season, Shoreacres became better equipped to maintain and improve the ravine systems running throughout the course with the purchase of DJI Agras T20P agricultural drone. This technology has given our staff ability to apply pesticides and fertilizers in areas that were once impassable, utilizing the drones GPS guided granular and liquid application capabilities. This is a unique opportunity for individuals to learn and use the latest technologies' along with GPS sprayers and full John Deere lease package as of 2022.      The internship will provide valuable experience of preparing championship conditions daily for an incredible membership. All aspects in maintaining turf at a very high level will be available for your consumption.
