Morris County Golf Club is a classic 18 hole golf course designed by CB Macdonald/Seth Raynor.  The club itself was established in 1894, with its current layout of holes being finished by Raynor around 1916.  Our goal in the grounds department is to create a partnership with an individual that wants to learn more about the turf industry and the day to day needs for golf course turf managment.  We intend this to be a true partnership of respect and opportunity for growth.  We know an intern can become a valued part of our management team thorughout a summer season and we want to support an individual through that experience no matter what their current skills are.  A summer intern can expect to learn more about applications (fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, etc.), mowing practices, course setup, tournament preparations, cultural practices, business management, project management, moisture management, and crew/team leadership.  We also have a recently updated world class maintenance facility that includes renonvations thorughout our existing areas alongside brand NEW adminstration and environmental buildings. Designed by Jay Morrish in 2002, the club is busy working on numerous improvement projects including a new, 10 acre par 3 course.   We are looking to fill two positions for the 2025 season with individuals who are passionate about golf and enjoy working in a fun, team oriented environment. Interns at Pine Canyon will be exposed to all aspects of managing a high end golf facility. You will work closely with the Director of Agronomy, Assistant Superintendents and an amazing core staff that works and plays together in one of the best places in the world to do so. You will go through a series of work / training sessions as we build up toward the end of the season where you will be responsible for running the operation for one full week. Training sessions include golf course set up, irrigation management and handwatering, fertilizer and spray applications, staff and inter-departmental communications, equipment set up and troubleshooting, weekly planning, budgeting, resume writing and mock interviews and networking with industry professionals. Once you finish your time here, you will have a solid foundation in all aspects of the maintenance operations and will know just what it takes to make the jump to Assistant and eventually Superintendent.  We value a solid work / life balance and as such, your schedule will include 3 days off every two weeks (off every other weekend) giving you time to explore the amazing natural beauty of nearby areas such as the Grand Canyon, Sedona and Scottsdale AZ. Daily Responsibilities: Involved in the daily maintenance of two golf courses, North and South, and will work closely with the Superintendents and Assistants.  Interns will learn fertilizer/pesticide calibration as well as proper application practices.  Interns will have multiple opportunities to operate sprayers and top dressers on fairways, tee boxes, or practice facilities.  Daily jobs will include but not limited to course setup, irrigation repair, equipment operation, and water management on USGA and push up greens. Crow Valley Golf Club is a private 18-hole golf club located in Davenport, Iowa located just 4 miles from the Mississippi River. The golf course was designed by John N. Cochran in 1969. Crow Valley has hosted multiple local and state championships, including the 2022 Iowa Amateur and the 2024 U.S. Open Local Qualifier. All the greens were regrassed in 2008 with A-4 bentgrass. The driving range and short game area were renovated in 2012.   Duties: The Golf Course Maintenance Intern will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents in all aspects of golf course management. Areas of education will be tailored to each intern’s skill set and will include but not be limited to the following duties. • Daily Course Setup and Scouting • Equipment Operation • Irrigation Repair, Maintenance and Operation. The Centennial Project as it became known, included a golf course renovation which was overseen by Jim Nagle and the Mazzella Partnership, and executed by Aspen Corporation, concluded with the courses re-opening in June of 2024. In addition to these enhancements, the Club has remained current in maintenance technology with an updated Toro equipment fleet and numerous allied tools and implements. Future work includes property border renovations, drainage, pond dredging, tree management, and additional master plan implementation.  As a Seasonal Intern at Meridian Hills CC, you will be heavily engaged in all aspects of Grounds Department Operations, specifically among them: Calibration, application, and the associated record keeping of all plant health applications. Scouting for disease, weed and insect damage/pressure on turf and ornamental vegetation.  Application of irrigation to turf and ornamentals during defined times of need, seasonally.  Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional work environment at all times. Communicate pertinent information with managers, colleagues, and club staff.  Participate in all general maintenance activities ordinarily involved in golf course and property management operations.

ABOUT LOOKAWAY GOLF CLUB Lookaway Golf Club (LGC), founded in 1999, boasts quite a history. The property itself dates to 1713, when it was deeded by William Penn (Deed #1 in Buckingham Township, PA) to Thomas Watson of Yorkshire, England. The Country Club of Buffalo is a private club that was established in 1889 with the current 18-hole, Donald Ross design opening in 1926. The club sits on a 270 acre property that also includes: four tennis courts, two platform tennis courts, outdoor pool facility, and a large sporting clays complex.  The golf course underwent a complete restoration in 2012 and just completed a new irrigation system installation.  The golf course is currently ranked 77th in the Golfweek top 100 classic list. The club has been selected to host the US Women's Mid-Am Championship in 2027 and the US Senior Amateur Championship in 2032. The seasonal intern position involves all aspects of golf course management.  Daily tasks will include course setup, water management, pest identification and management, irrigation repair, project planning and management, tournament preparation, and team leadership. We are looking for a talented and ambitious individual to join our team which currently consists of four assistant superintendents and up to 45 full and part-time staff members.  Overtime and weekends will be required; typically working 50-70 hours per week during the golf season.

The Country Club of York is looking for Student Interns for the 2025 season. This position will give the student all the exposure they will need to become a successful Assistant Superintendent and ultimately to become a Golf Course Superintendent.  The intern will report directly to the Green and Grounds Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendents.  This person will aid in the direction and participation in maintaining the golf course greens, tees, fairways, and surrounding property as well as being exposed to all aspects of maintaining the golf course from course setup, pesticide applications, water management to managing small crews and everything in between.  The Country Club of York will be hosting the 2025 Pennsylvania Golf Association's Men's and Women's Four-Ball Championship.  This tournament will be held on June 2nd-3rd and will be a great opportunity to be apart of and see tournament preparation.  You will also be exposed to golf course construction processes in regards to executing the Country Club of York's master plan developed by Golf Course Architect Andrew Green.   These projects are completed by McDonald and Son's Golf Course Builders Inc. in conjunction with the CCY agronomy team.  The 2025 project we will be completing an overhaul of our 13 green complex and tee complex on hole 14. The scope of the project will be coring out and rebuilding the green and demoing the current tee box and shifting and building 3 new tee boxes along with the installation of new irrigation.  The members of CCY are committed to continually improving the golf course and we are scheduled to complete at least one major project each year moving forward. This internship will give the student a great opportunity to build his or her resume.

The golf course recently just underwent a major restoration project in 2018, which included regrassing the fairways with Celebration bermudagrass, regrassing the greens with Tifeagle bermudagrass, restoring bunkers to their original design, upgrading drainage systems, and replacing multiple bulkheads and all cartpaths. We have kentucky bluegrass rough, bentgrass greens and fairways.   This position will have the opportunity to be involved in everything we do to the golf course here at the Old Edwards Club as well as at our 12 hole par three facility GlenCove. SUMMARY The Seattle Seahawks Fields Apprenticeship program is designed to provide a supervised work experience for students or recent graduates to build their expertise and proficiency in turf and athletic field management, as well as enhance their problem solving abilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the implementation of the field and landscape’s fertility program. Assist in the implementation of aerification, topdressing, overseeding, vertical mowing, etc. Aid in irrigation repairs and system tuning. Learn and assist in basic equipment maintenance practices. Assist in the implementation of all cultural practices necessary to maintain the landscape areas at the highest level possible. Other duties may be assigned.
