A master plan was competed by Andy Staples, of Staples Golf Design in 2020, and since then several areas of the course have been updated to reflect that plan.  Heritage Club is currently seeking an Assistant-In-Training to join its course and grounds staff. An assistant-in-training, under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent or the Assistant Golf Course Superintendents perform routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance with an emphasis on preparation for the Assistant Superintendent Role. East Lake Golf Club Background: Located in Atlanta, Georgia, East Lake Golf Club is the home course of legendary golfer Bobby Jones and is the oldest golf course in the city of Atlanta. The 18-hole private course began construction in 1904 and was designed by course architect Tom Bendelow. In 1913 the course was redesigned to its current layout by famed architect Donald Ross. The property is undergoing a major renovation that includes a 30,000 square feet learning lab operated by the TGR Foundation, a 9-hole short course designed by TGR design, a state of the art driving range facility, brand new maintenance facility/clubhouse/cart barn, creek restoration that will create 25 acres of wetland, and a 27-hole golf course restoration led by Jim Wagner and Gil Hanse. Other aspects of the project include a new Rainbird irrigation system, Watertronics pump station, and a new John Deere equipment package. The Equipment Manager will work closely with the Director of Grounds and Superintendent to manage day to day operations of the facility to maintain newly established grounds and construction activities. Initial objectives will be to evaluate current equipment onsite, evaluate equipment needs and current John Deere equipment package, develop a preventative maintenance schedule, develop a budget that takes into account the construction schedule, evaluate design of future shop, and assist maintaining the grounds.
