Identifying, evaluating, and recommending corrective action for agronomic problem areas, including funguses, pests, and drainage issues. Collect field data for water management programs. Direct Hand watering crews. Communicate with Superintendent and Senior Assistant to organize equipment in mornings prior to staff arrival.  Maintain clean and organized shop/yard.  Collect daily metrics on greens speeds, clipping volumes, moisture, firmness, and tissue testing.  Consult with superintendent and Senior assistant daily to plan and supervise crew member tasks and maintenance of golf course.  Instruct crew members on proper equipment operation. Manage crew members during projects. Inspect irrigation systems, identify issues, and implement corrective action. Conduct and oversee fertilizer and chemical applications. Assist with safety programs, training, and record keeping Understanding of and ability to utilize golf course software applications such as EZLocator, Task Tracker, TDR Fieldscout, Playbooks Coverage, Drones, and camera work.

The Bob O’Link Golf Club Agronomy Team is seeking interested candidates for our Assistant-In-Training position. This is intended to be a full time position and work is available as early as March 15th, 2025.   Located one mile from the shores of Lake Michigan, Bob O’Link Golf is over a century old that was originally designed by Donald Ross in 1916 and then re-designed by Colt & Alison in 1924. The 1924 design served as the template for the 2016 Centennial Initiative which was a full golf course restoration with Jim Urbina which was a great success.    In 2023, the Club completed work on a brand new, state of the art Agronomy Center. It now is the basis for our operation of up to 25 employees and over $2 million worth of equipment. It has been a huge asset to our operation and our ability to implement new technology.   The Assistant-in-Training will work with all members of the Agronomy team with daily direct communication with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents. Training will be provided to new employees of all skill levels with all new jobs. That being said, at least one season of previous Golf Course experience is preferred but not required. Shooting Star, a Golf Digest Top 100 Tom Fazio designed 18-hole private facility, opened for play in 2009. The course is located at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Ski Resort, one mile from Grand Teton National Park, and boasts one of the most breathtaking mountain backdrops in the world. The golf season is Mid-May through Mid-October with an elite 15 KM Nordic/Cross-Country ski course maintained from December through April.  The Assistant-in-Training (A.I.T) at Shooting Star will be a hands-on and active position involved in all aspects of Golf Course Maintenance. A.I.T, is a 12-month position, working directly under the Assistant Superintendents and Golf Course Manager. World class bentgrass is maintained on all greens, tees, approaches, and fairways. Kentucky bluegrass roughs, and 126 acres of fine fescue native cover the remaining surfaces of the 256-acre facility. Examples of daily roles to be performed are chemical/fertilizer mixing & applications, daily mowing, hand watering, irrigation repairs, drainage/course improvement projects, vegetation management, tractor/implement work, course set-up, equipment maintenance, snow removal, grooming of Nordic/Cross-Country Ski Course, management of small crews and more.   Victoria National Golf Club is seeking an Assistant in Training (AIT) to join our management team for 2025. We are an 18 hole private club with a primarily national membership. Designed by Tom Fazio the course has continuously been ranked in multiple top 100 lists since inception and is currently ranked number one in Indiana. Located in the southwest corner of the state, it’s the only cool-season facility in the region. Greens, tees, and fairways are grassed with L-93 Bentgrass. Our rough is primarily Midnight Kentucky Bluegrass. Dew paths and intermediates are Perennial Ryegrass and HGT Bluegrass. Our turf types combined with our climate provide a unique opportunity to learn elite course presentation in an extremely challenging environment. We are fortunate to have ownership that understands what is needed to maintain a course of our caliber. We are closed annually from late November to early April to perform all turf cultivation practices as well as architectural and construction updates. Position Overview The AIT will work directly with Assistant Superintendents, Superintendent, and the Director of Agronomy, and is considered a key member of the management team. You will have the opportunity to be involved in all agronomic practices, construction projects, scheduling of staff, as well as long and short term planning. The Country Club of York is looking for an Assistant-in-Training. The AIT reports directly to the Director of Green and Grounds and the Assistant Golf Course Superintendents.  This position aids in the direction and participation in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and irrigation system. Country Club of York is private golf club located in York, PA and was established in 1899. The club has hosted the 1999 U.S. Junior Amateur, the Pennsylvania State Open in 2014 and 2023 and is inquiring about another USGA event in the future.   Country Club of York is in the process of working on a master plan with golf course architect Andrew Green.  This plan involves completing one major project every fall off the master plan.  The Club just completed a major tee renovation on our 13th hole which was completed by McDonald and Sons Golf Course Designers.  The Country Club of York will host the 2025 Pennsylvania Golf Association’s Men’s and Women’s Four-Ball Championships.  This tournament will be held on June 2nd-3rd.  This will be a great opportunity to gain valuable tournament preparations. Founded in 2000, Eagle Point Golf Club was designed by architect, Tom Fazio.  Eagle Point features an 18 hole layout, as well as a 9 hole Par 3 course. Eagle Point consistently ranks as one of the top golf courses in the country, and in 2017 hosted the PGA Tour's Wells Fargo Championship. We are currently in search of an Assistant-In-Training to join our talented team here at Eagle Point.  The position is designed to focus on the various skills needed to promote a firm and fast experience in the Coastal South. Resources are provided by the Club to support our goals. During the Summer of 2017, the greens were converted to Champion G-12 with TifGrand collars. The fairways, tees, and rough consist of TifSport Bermudagrass.  Our motivated membership allows for significant capital projects.  Recent projects include a state of the art pumphouse and Watertronics pump station, and total reconstruction of our Par 3 course utilizing TifEagle greens and Tahoma 31 Bermudagrass.  Future projects are imminent as we navigate the Master Planning process.
