Assistant Superintendent

Normanside Country Club is a rare semi-private 18 hole golf course located just minutes away from Albany, New York.  The club features the newly redesigned/renovated golf course seated on 200 acres along with a Trackman driving range, 5 Indoor Trackman Simulators, a 3 acre short game practice facility and a 109 yard 19^th hole featuring a square green and moat bunker in our “Fox Den”.   Recent renovations include the short game center construction,  20,0000 trees removed and the incorporation of 10+ acres of native fescue for aesthetics and design.  We are looking for a highly motivated person with a passion for golf course management to join our team.  Our course is growing and improving at a rapid rate and has made a commitment to providing the resources and budget for that expansion.  Our goal is to provide the highest quality conditions and experience to our members and guests.  The Assistant Superintendent will ensure the daily care, maintenance, and renovations to the golf course are are done at the highest level of quality in conjunction with Superintendent and the Director of Agronomy.  This is a full time year round position.

Duties

• Schedule and manage daily golf course practices
• Work hand in hand with the superintendent to develop and implement an agronomic program.
• Apply fertilizer and plant protectant products
• Maintain and monitor irrigation system
• Recruit, train, and supervise staff in season with safety and accountability being the primary goal.
• Lead and direct teams for projects and tasks
• Must be able to safely operate equipment related to in house golf course improvement projects
• Operate equipment including but not limited to mowers, tractors, aerators, blowers, trimmers, edgers, chainsaws, and snow removal equipment
