Seasonal Intern
The Country Club of York is looking for Student Interns for the 2025 season. This position will give the student all the exposure they will need to become a successful Assistant Superintendent and ultimately to become a Golf Course Superintendent. The intern will report directly to the Green and Grounds Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendents. This person will aid in the direction and participation in maintaining the golf course greens, tees, fairways, and surrounding property as well as being exposed to all aspects of maintaining the golf course from course setup, pesticide applications, water management to managing small crews and everything in between.
The Country Club of York will be hosting the 2025 Pennsylvania Golf Association's Men's and Women's Four-Ball Championship. This tournament will be held on June 2nd-3rd and will be a great opportunity to be apart of and see tournament preparation.
You will also be exposed to golf course construction processes in regards to executing the Country Club of York's master plan developed by Golf Course Architect Andrew Green. These projects are completed by McDonald and Son's Golf Course Builders Inc. in conjunction with the CCY agronomy team. The 2025 project we will be completing an overhaul of our 13 green complex and tee complex on hole 14. The scope of the project will be coring out and rebuilding the green and demoing the current tee box and shifting and building 3 new tee boxes along with the installation of new irrigation. The members of CCY are committed to continually improving the golf course and we are scheduled to complete at least one major project each year moving forward.
This internship will give the student a great opportunity to build his or her resume.
Educational Requirements
Currently enrolled in a 2 to 4 year degree, or certificate program in turf management, or related field at an accredited university
Experience Requirements
Seeking a dedicated and motivated individual with the desire to gain as much experience in golf course maintenance industry.
