The Club at Crazy Mountain Ranch is a Private Membership experience set on 18,000 extraordinary acres in the state of Montana. Take one part working ranch, combine with golf, lodging, great food and drink plus everything else there is to see and do and you’ve got something beyond special… Crazy Mountain Ranch is a project by Lone Mountain Land Company (LMLC) who manages the planning, entitlement, building, marketing, and sale of premier real estate communities around Big Sky, Montana.

The new Coore & Crenshaw design is currently under construction and promises to be walkable and challenging, yet very playable that seamlessly blends with the landscape and takes full advantage of the exceptional mountain views, aspen groves and wide-open spaces surrounding the Ranch.

The Club at Crazy Mountain Ranch is looking for hardworking, self-motivated individuals to assist in the construction, grow-in and opening of this premier golf course. The Intern Program will be a tremendous opportunity to experience the construction and grow-in of a highly regarded Coore/Crenshaw designed golf course in the magnificent Montana environment. Interns will be able to learn the many facets of golf course construction and turfgrass grow-in. Candidates will work closely with the Director of Golf Course and Grounds and Assistant Superintendents in the building and eventual maintenance of this 18 hole and Par 3 championship golf course. CMR desires individuals that have a team-oriented mindset with a vision of helping to bring this exciting golf course to life.

Essential Duties and Job Functions

·         Participate in construction, grassing & grow-in of newly constructed Coore/Crenshaw designed golf course.

·         Assist in seeding and establishment of newly built bentgrass greens.

·         Actively work with and establish Kentucky Bluegrass and native grass sod as well as hydroseeding in golf course native areas.

·         Handwatering and irrigation maintenance including valuable experience with new irrigation system installation. Includes exposure to HDPE pipe, Toro Lynx central control and irrigation design process.

·         Topdressing of greens, tees and fairways.

·         Various golf course equipment operation.

·         Grow-in and golf course construction projects.

Educational Requirements

·         Currently enrolled in a two- or four-year Turfgrass Management Program. Recent graduates seeking additional work experience will also be considered.

Experience Requirements

·         Previous work experience on a golf course preferred but not required.

Special Requirements

·         Aspirations of a career in golf course maintenance industry.

·         Strong work ethic with a desire to learn.

·         Team player who works well with others.

·         Dependable.
