In 2023, the golf course underwent a full reconstruction, incorporating cutting-edge technology to redefine turf management practices. With bentgrass greens and zoysia grass on fairways, approaches, and tees, Vaquero offers interns the opportunity to work with premium turfgrass varieties and advanced agronomic systems in a world-class environment.

 

Vaquero Club is seeking motivated, detail-oriented students or recent graduates passionate about turf management and golf course maintenance. As a Turf Management Intern, you will work alongside our experienced agronomy team to maintain and enhance the pristine conditions of the course while gaining hands-on experience with innovative technologies and best practices.

 

 Assist in the daily maintenance and care of the golf course, including mowing, trimming, and course setup.

 Participate in irrigation management, including troubleshooting, repairs, and monitoring moisture levels.

 Learn and apply advanced turfgrass cultural practices such as aeration, topdressing, and verticutting.

 Gain hands-on experience with bentgrass and zoysia management, including disease prevention and nutrient applications.

 Contribute to special projects, such as monitoring environmental conditions and maintaining the aesthetics of the course.

 Operate and maintain specialized turf equipment under the guidance of the agronomy team.

Educational Requirements

Enrolled in or recently graduated from a turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, or related program.

Experience Requirements

Strong passion for turf management and the golf industry

Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and in varying weather conditions.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.

Previous experience in golf course maintenance or landscaping is a plus but not required
