Assistant Superintendent
Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club is a private, 18-hole golf course located just outside of Columbus, Ohio. Designed by famed architect, Arthur Hills, Kinsale sprawls over almost 300 acres. The greens, tees and fairways comprise of L93 creeping bentgrass and rye/blue roughs with numerous ponds and water features throughout the course. Recently, the club has completed bunker renovations where we installed capillary concrete at both Kinsale and its sister course, Scioto Reserve. More recent renovations include seeding and maintaining over sixty acres of fine fescue turfgrass throughout the property. The club will be hosting a qualifier for the U.S. Open on June 2, 2025
This position presents an excellent opportunity for a young graduate of a turfgrass program to lead a staff and grow within a professional turfgrass program. The Assistant Superintendent position at Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to facilitate the operation and to present the golf course as it was intended to be played and in a tournament ready manner. They will manage, delegate, train, direct and support the team to maintain the golf course at the highest quality possible at all times. Duties will entail:
Chemical/fertilizer applications and accurate record keeping.
Irrigation maintenance, troubleshooting and programming.
Assist the Golf Course Superintendent with labor tracking and labor efficiency.
Aid in the hiring process and staff development mentorship
Educational Requirements
Candidates must have 2-4 year degree in Turfgrass Science or related field
Experience Requirements
The qualified candidates will have 2-3 years of golf course experience including management of staff and chemical and fertilizer applications. More importantly they must carry themselves in a professional and positive manner at all times and demonstrate a sense of pride and embrace a team-oriented culture.
Special Requirements
Must have an Ohio Pesticide License or the ability to obtain one immediately
