Golf Course Superintendent
Glenwild Golf Club and Spa in Park City, UT is looking to hire a Golf Course Superintendent, under the direction and guidance of the Director of Agronomy, the Golf Course Superintendent manages and participates in the general maintenance of 18 holes of golf and associated facilities related to the Club, including tennis courts, pumping stations, Clubhouse grounds and maintenance facility. Responsibilities include hiring, employee training, delegating work assignments and overseeing job performance.
The Superintendent works closely with the Director of Agronomy and Assistant Superintendents mastering the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the turf industry. The Golf Course Superintendent may serve in the Director of Agronomy's capacity in his absence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Hiring, training, daily scheduling and supervision of seasonal maintenance staff, including the management of employee's time and payroll.
· Oversees the completion of work assignments by crew members and assists with field decisions regarding job procedures, work standards, and safe yet efficient machinery use.
· Constant monitoring of turfgrass systems during the growing season, ensuring proper water, nutrient, and disease prevention levels.
· Operation and maintenance of pumping and irrigation systems - including program scheduling, assisting in repairs and winterization.
· Communicating regularly with other members of the organization's management team to discuss events, goals and member input.
· Monitors sprayer/spreader calibration and application of fertilizers and pesticides; responsibilities include the safety and direction of chemical handlers and/or helpers as well as the proper tank mixing of spray program as specified by the Director.
· Daily recordkeeping of staff activities, employee issues, weather data, cultural practices and irrigation use.
· Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Hiring, training and daily supervision of the Seasonal maintenance staff, ensuring proper and safe use of maintenance facility and equipment; assist in personnel management and evaluation. The Golf Course Superintendent must be a highly organized and motivated individual, willing to work long hours in variable weather conditions, weekends, holidays and emergency calls as needed.

Located amid flower-filled meadows and majestic alpine slopes, we are a golf club that offers a retreat as exclusive as it is desirable. Our 950-acre sanctuary features a magnificent clubhouse and spa surrounded by a championship golf course designed by Tom Fazio and recognized as "Best in Utah" and a Top 200 golf club by Golf Digest. We have a full membership with 325 members.
Glenwild completed a full renovation of our driving range and practice facility in 2023. We are currently in the planning stages with Jackson Kahn Design, with the goal of a 2027 renovation of the golf course, that will include irrigation upgrades to both control system and pipe, bunker reshaping, tee renovation and additionally, cart path replacement and possible green upgrades. Our Club membership is a very supportive membership, that provides the necessary tools for us to be leaders in the golf industry.
Educational Requirements
Minimum 3 years experience as Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent, plus 2 or 4 year degree in turfgrass-related field required.
Experience Requirements
Experience in all phases of golf course management and turf culture, along with a working knowledge of course renovation and construction, preferred.
· Requires a valid driver's license, and an acceptable driving record as approved by the Company's insurance carrier.
· Candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a valid State of Utah non-commercial pesticide applicator's license within 90 days of starting.
· The candidate should desire to pursue a career in golf course management, have strong organizational skills, be highly organized and detail oriented. Must have effective written and oral communication skills and computer proficiency.
· Requires a high degree of administrative and leadership ability, especially in terms of problem solving and decision making.

This golf course management position earns a competitive salary in the range of $115,000-$125,000 per year, dependent on your qualifications and experience, plus an end-of-year bonus.
