Assistant Superintendent

We are currently looking to fill two assistant superintendent positions.  Compensation will reflect your experience and the role you fit within this project.  This position will be involved in the planning, growing in, and maintenance of all golf course grounds.  This is an opportunity to participate in all phases of construction, irrigation installation, and growing in a world class site.  This position will be heavily involved in pesticide and fertilizer applications through turf establishment phases.  You will also play a major role in mapping, programming, and fine tuning a brand new irrigation system.

The right candidates will aid the Director of Agronomy and Golf Course Superintendent in: 

  • Seeding and establishing USGA bentgrass putting greens with PrecisionAire systems 
  • Establishing sand capped bentgrass fairways
  • Maintaining 30 acres of sodded rough
  • Hydroseeding and maintaining fine fescue naturalized areas
  • Managing a 4,000 GPM WaterTronics pump station and RainBird irrigation system with CirrusPro
  • Utilizing Advanced Task Tracker and Playbooks 
  • Working with golf course architects, construction and irrigation contractors, and consultants to produce a world class golf experience

Educational Requirements

Two or four year degree/certificate in turfgrass management.

Ability to obtain New Jersey Pesticide and Fertilizer license.

Experience Requirements

At least 3 seasons of golf course maintenance experience preferred.

Looking for the right candidates to build a team and grow as the project progresses.

However, experience in the following is a plus:

  • Pesticide and fertilizer applications and calibration
  • Rain Bird IC system and CirrusPro
  • Water management with a focus on playing conditions
  • Cultivation practices
  • Managing small crews
  • Training seasonal staff/interns in proper maintenance practices
  • Record keeping
  • Willingness to work 70+ hours per week through the construction and grassing phases
