Assistant Equipment Technician

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Mechanic and/or the Golf Course Superintendent, the Assistant Mechanic assists and/or works independently in repairing and maintaining all equipment used to maintain the golf course and landscape. The role involves talks related to equipment maintenance, ensuring proper functioning of machinery, and contributing to the overall upkeep of the golf course.

• Assist the Mechanic in performing routine maintenance and repairs on all equipment used to maintain the golf course and landscaping.

• Help diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems.

• Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• Vo-tech or service training

• Experience will all types of engine repair, hydraulic systems, mower maintenance, and troubleshooting

• Working knowledge of golf course equipment

In addition, the ideal candidate will be or have:

• Two years of golf course maintenance

 

Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. The employee must be able to sit for long periods of time while driving golf course equipment.

 

Work Environment

This position will be regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions in performing the duties of the job.
