Assistant Equipment Technician
SODCO INC is one the largest sod producers in the northeast. We grow rough sod, as well as specialty low cut bentgrass and bluegrass. We are looking to hire an assistant mechanic to help maintain and repair our fleet of sod harvesters, reel mowers, tractors, forklifts, and many other pieces of farm equipment. The position is full time, Monday -friday, and half day on Saturdays during the busy season; no weekends in the offseason. We are looking for a passionate, ambitious self starter to join our team.
Educational Requirements
Schooling in engines/ equipment is a plus, but not a requirement.
Experience Requirements
Experience/ understanding of small engines, experience with braking systems, and knowledge of tire changing. Ability to perform oil/fluid changes. we will train the right individual when it comes to diesel engines/hydraulic systems, as well as the specialty equipment we use to harvest.
