Turf Equipment Technician

Salary Range: $22.00 To 26.00 Hourly

The Mechanic repairs and maintains all equipment associated with the Golf Course Maintenance Department by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Include the following. Other duties may be assigned: 

• Lubricates and services all golf course maintenance equipment. 
• Inspects equipment for operating deficiencies. 
• Repairs and adjusts equipment. 
• Maintains repair records on all equipment. 
• Trains maintenance staff on the proper use of equipment and the correct maintenance methods. 
• Demonstrates the use of new equipment. 
• Maintains safety procedures for all equipment and keeps required records. 
• Trains operators on the care and use of new equipment. 
• Performs general overhaul and other preventative maintenance on all equipment. 
• Adheres to standards and guidelines, as set by Management.
• Other duties, as assigned by the Director of Golf Course Maintenance, Head Superintendent/Project Manager, Equipment Manager, AGM, COO

 Education/Experience:

Must have at least 2-3 years of Golf Course experience. Must be able to learn or use a grinder effectively and be proficient. Must have the ability to work with commercial golf course and grounds equipment. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally.

 Certifications, Licenses:

None required.

 Reasoning Ability:

Ability to understand, interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

 Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and operate; reach with hands and arms; and see, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, bend, push, pull reach and occasionally lift and/or move 50 lbs.

 Work Environment:

Outside work for extended periods of time and precautions should be taken.
