Assistant Superintendent
Berkeley Hall Club located a couple miles from Hilton Head,SC consists of two Tom Fazio designed courses, the North Course and the South Course. Berkeley Hall includes a 22 acre Practice facility and short game as part of its golf experience.
The position is to replace the Assistant Superintendent who was promoted to North Course Superintendent after the departure of our current North Superintendent for a great career advancement opportunity as a Director. The North Course is currently in the middle of a re-grass project. We are converting all fairways, tees and rough to Tahoma 31, installing bunker solutions in the bunkers, and refreshing bed and natural areas. The project completion date is scheduled for September 2024. The North Course greens were converted from bent-grass to champion bermudagrass in 2015.
The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the North Course Superintendent to achieve high quality conditions day in and day out. The position will be exposed to all levels of Golf Course Management including budgeting, chemical ordering, daily operations, agronomic planning, and more.
Weekend Schedule every 4 weeks consists of: a 3 day weekend off per month, two day weekend off, One full work weekend, and one weekend Saturday work only. December, January, and February work 1 weekend a month. Work half days Friday, Saturday, and Sunday except during tournaments, aeration, and special projects.
Educational Requirements
2 or 4 year degree preferred but will consider the right candidate working towards an online degree or certificate.
Experience Requirements
2 years of golf course maintenance experience
