Assistant Superintendent

Wentworth by the Sea Country Club is an 18 hole private club established in 1897 and located in Rye, NH. The course is located on Little Harbor and offers sweeping views out into the Atlantic Ocean.  Initially designed by George Wright and was redesigned by Donald Ross in 1911.  Wentworth also has 4 clay tennis courts, 2 paddle tennis courts, a pool, and an indoor sports complex.

The assistant will report directly to the superintendent and work alongside the other assistant to manage the crew and perform daily course and equipment maintenance.  You will be expected to be involved in all areas of the operation and have the ability to train and manage small crews. This is an entry-level management position that will require leadership skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. You must be self-motivated, punctual; detail oriented, and is able to work independently as well as with others.

This is a full time, year round position with duties that will include chemical and fertilizer applications, irrigation work, hand watering, course setup, mowing, scheduling, staff management, tree work, equipment maintenance and snow removal. Training will be provided on all aspects of the job. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays during the golf season.
