Golf Course Superintendent
Georgetown Country Club is seeking a full-time, salaried Golf Course Superintendent to oversee our 9-hole executive golf course and athletic club grounds operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced assistant superintendent to advance their career and gain the superintendent title. The ideal candidate will have a passion for golf course management, a strong background in agronomy, irrigation, and turf maintenance, and a commitment to delivering excellent playing conditions for all skill levels.
Compensation: $45,000-$55,000, depending on experience
Core Responsibilities:

Grounds Management • Oversee all maintenance and grounds operations • Manage pesticide and fertilizer applications • Create and document course maintenance schedules and procedures • Coordinate snow removal • Lead special projects

Maintain irrigation system

Ability to maintain preventative maintenance program for equipment

Staff Management • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise maintenance staff • Handle crew scheduling based on work priorities, equipment availability, and weather conditions

Safety and Compliance • Maintain a safe and compliant grounds workplace • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations

Record Keeping • Oversee maintenance operation compliance records, including:

Cultural practices

Interdepartmental Collaboration • Work with other departments and board members to ensure smooth operations

Knowledge and Skills:

Fundamental understanding of golf, mechanics, and equipment repair

Experience with irrigation maintenance and repair

Educational Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience Requirements

At least 3 years of relevant, recent golf course maintenance experience

2 years management experience at a golf facility, which may be assistant manager or supervisor.
Special Requirements
- Michigan Pesticide Applicator License (Category 3A — Turf), or ability to obtain within 30 days
