Wicker Point Golf Club and Willow Point Golf and Country Club are offering a 3- or 6-month internship. This opportunity offers experience in golf course construction and warm-season turfgrass management, including Zeon Zoysia, TifEagle Bermuda, 419 Bermuda, and native grass management.

Course Descriptions:

Wicker Point Golf Club is the only Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw designed golf course in Alabama. It is a private course defined by serene pine plantations, meandering creeks, and eight spectacular lakefront holes. The unmatched 18-hole course celebrates the land’s unique beauty, topography, and serenity. Wicker Point opened for member play in September of 2023. The golf course boasts Zeon Zoysia grass tees, fairways, roughs, and TifEagle bermudagrass on the greens. The Zeon fairways are accented by a beautiful blend of native grasses and pine straw. Golf Digest recently named Wicker Point Golf Club runner-up in the 2023 Best New Private Course category.

Located just 3 miles from Wicker Point sits Willow Point Golf and Country Club. The current layout at Willow Point is a Hurdzan/Fry-designed championship golf course located on the beautiful shores of Lake Martin in Alexander City, AL. The course features 18 holes of championship golf and two unique experiences: the links-style front nine holes with fairways protected by trees and fescue grass—and the back nine, where Lake Martin comes into play on six holes. Today, the course measures 7,465 yards from the championship tees and includes six sets of tees to accommodate all levels of play. Twelve holes are located along the shores of Lake Martin – and all 18 holes have a view of the lake.

Willow Point Golf and Country Club will close in February 2025 for a course renovation led by the world-renowned Fry/Straka Golf Course Design Group.
