Irrigation Technician

Key Responsibilities:
- Irrigation System Maintenance: Oversee the operation and management of the golf course irrigation system, including troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of new components.
- Water Management: Monitor and adjust irrigation schedules to ensure optimal water usage and turf health, keeping in mind environmental sustainability and cost efficiency.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on all irrigation equipment to ensure consistent and efficient operation.
- Technical Expertise: Utilize advanced irrigation technology and software to manage and enhance the efficiency of the irrigation system.
- Course Collaboration: Work closely with the golf course management team to ensure the irrigation system meets the needs of the course and adapts to changing conditions.
- Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve any issues with the irrigation system promptly to minimize downtime and manage course quality.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
Educational Requirements
Relevant certification in irrigation management is preferred, but not required (e.g., Certified Irrigation Technician).
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in golf course irrigation system management preferred.
Special Requirements
- Proficiency in operating, managing, and repairing irrigation systems, including familiarity with central control systems such as Toro or Rain Bird.
- Strong understanding of turfgrass management and water conservation practices.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to managing the highest standards of quality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
