Assistant Superintendent
The Sagamore Club is now accepting applications for the position of 2nd Assistant Superintendent. The Sagamore Club is a Jack Nicklaus signature designed private club that opened in 2003. The club completed a full bunker renovation in 2018 that included installation of Capillary Concrete and Pro Angle sand to all formal bunkers.
Par 72 course consisting of USGA spec A-1 Bentgrass greens (3 Acres), Seaside II Creeping Bentgrass Fairways (36 Acres) & Tees (4 Acres), primary Bluegrass Rough (20 Acres), and Chewings/Red Fine Fescue Natives (70 Acres).
The Assistant will work closely with the Superintendent and Agronomy team in planning, supervising/scheduling, leading of crew members in all aspects of golf course maintenance. Perform routine pesticide and fertilizer applications throughout the golf course and responsible for irrigation management/repair.
Educational Requirements
2-4 year Degree Turfgrass Management preferred but not required.
Experience Requirements
2-4 years of golf course experience, preferably in a private club setting.
Special Requirements
Bentgrass management experience preferred. Must be a goal and team oriented worker with desire to further one's career in the turf industry. Category 3b certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment. Knowledge of Rainbird irrigation controls and software is a plus. Spanish speaking a plus.
