Assistant Superintendent

Located in the heart of Westchester County, GCP offers a Walden-like setting of rolling wooded hills, sparkling ponds and brooks, and majestic stone outcroppings. Preserving the ecologically rich land at GCP was a priority from the earliest planning sessions. The 6,876-yard Jack Nicklaus-designed Golf Course is the only Nicklaus design in the greater New York area. All the amenities at GCP were planned with an environmental focus and the Club's structures blend subtly into the natural surroundings.

The Club has dedicated 192 acres to the golf course, with an additional 80 acres of natural wetlands. The land has been designated part of the Audubon Society. Most holes at GCP are defined avenues cut through the trees and wetlands. The serenity of the course allows members to enjoy the beauty of the game while relaxing amidst a spectacular landscape and exceptional beauty.

The practice facilities at Purchase are widely considered some of the best in the area and are an important part of the member experience. Facilities include an all grass driving range, the short game area, a state-of-the-art indoor outdoor teaching studio, three private hitting bays and a putting lab. As a golf-only club, Purchase offers its members every opportunity to enjoy golf at the highest level from experienced professionals. 

GCP is currently undergoing a renovation to update greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, practice area, rough, and irrigation system.  The potential new hire will be a part of the end-stages of this process

Responsibilities Required of Assistant include but are not limited to:
-maintaining, spraying, and watering of Bentgrass greens, tees, and fairways
-supervising and scheduling a crew of 25
-planning and implementing cultural practices for playing surfaces
-mixing and applying pesticides
-irrigation and drainage audit and repairs
-overtime and weekends  are necessary at times during growing season, time off will be scheduled
-working side by side with Superintendent and other Assistants to develop skills
