Mechanic

Pine Meadow is a 18-hole Public golf facility located in Mundelein, Illinois.

Pine Meadow Golf Club is seeking a qualified, highly motivated, team-oriented Equipment Technician. The tech will have the opportunity to work on a variety of equipment including, but certainly not limited to: construction equipment, tractors, aerifiers, reel-type and rotary mowers (walk-behind and ride-on), automotive equipment, hand-held power equipment, and two & four cycle gas engines, compact diesel engines (including tier 4 engines). Equipment must be maintained to provide conditions to exceed expectations from typical daily-fee type layouts.

They will be involved in maintenance of all fleet and to diagnose and maintain 2 & 4 cycle engines, diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. In addition, they will have the opportunity to learn basic and advanced techniques in reel and bedknife grinding and mower setup.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and organized work environment as directed by the Shop Manager
• Service and assist in the maintenance of automotive and golf course equipment
• Inspect equipment for operating deficiencies, and perform routine checks, adjustments, and repairs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Self-starter mentality with positive attitude.
• Ability to work well with others including, but not limited to, Spanish-speaking staff members.
• Dedication and commitment to turf equipment technician industry.
• Aptitude for diagnosing and repairing mechanical problems
• Ability to use basic hand tools and repair equipment safely
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions

Working Conditions/Physical Demand:

• Works in outdoors and use necessary equipment
• Ability to lift at least 50lbs.
