Seasonal Intern
Meadow Brook Club is seeking a motivated individual to fill or summer internship position for 2025. Meadow Brook located in Jericho, NY and is a golf only club. Originally incorporated in 1881 on a different site, the current site opened in 1955. Originally designed by Dick Wilson, the club was renovated by Joe Lee in 1967, and again by Brian Silva in 2016. The 2016 renovation included 5 USGA greens, 9 holes of new tees, all bunkers renovated using Better Billy Bunker technology, a new short game facility and driving range target greens. The current course has 7 MGA rated tee combinations raging from 5,607 yards to 7,475 yards. The property is 270 acres. Bent/ Poa greens, tees and fairways. Roughs are a mix f Blue/Rye/Fescue. 31 Acres Native Fescue rough. Rain Bird Irrigation system, 13,500 rounds per year. From 1987 to 2002 Meadow Brook hosted an official PGA TOUR Champions event. The club has hosted all local Majors including the Met OPEN, (hosting again in 2025) Met Amateur, The Ike, Met PGA, LIPGA, and the Long Island Amateur.
Educational Requirements
Individual must currently be enrolled in a 2 or 4 year turf grass education program at a recognized school.
Experience Requirements
Experience is preferred but not necessary. Interns at Meadow Brook are treated like assistants. No matter what your experience level when you arrive at Meadow Brook, when you leave, you will have the skills necessary to apply for assistant superintendent jobs upon graduation from school.
Special Requirements
Individual must have a valid drivers license, be reasonable physically fit with the ability to lift 50 pounds.
Job Benefits
No experience - $18.00/hr. One or more seasons experience - $20.00/hr.
All hours worked over 40 each week are paid at a rate of 1 and 1/2 times normal rate. Summer End Bonus: Depending on attendance, cooperation and performance, intern could earn a summer end bonus equal to two (2) weeks base pay.
Housing is provided in a dorm style room on newly renovated third floor of clubhouse. Includes AC, free WI-Fi, You will need to bring sheets (twin bed), pillow, pillow cases, towels, toiletries and non-work clothes. Work clothes are provided including rain gear, shirts, pants, jactet and hats. Lunch is provided on most days, Dinner provided some days, breakfast not provided. Golf privileges Monday thru Thursday after 4:00 pm.
