Seasonal Intern
Designed in 1987 by Tom Fazio, Wade Hampton Golf Club has consistently ranked as one of the finest modern-day courses in the United States. Links Magazine described the course by saying, "If Wade Hampton Golf Club were a painting it would either be on display somewhere or locked away as part of some collectors private gallery." Currently, Golf Digest has Wade Hampton ranked at #32 in the United States. Members and guests enjoy a golf course managed daily to exact standards and conditioning.
ABOUT WADE HAMPTON GOLF CLUB
- Located in beautiful Cashiers, North Carolina along the southern Appalachian Mountains at an elevation of 3484’.
- Considered by many to be Tom Fazio’s masterpiece

TURF TYPES
- Greens and approaches - Pure Distinction creeping bentgrass
- Tees – Crystal Blue creeping bentgrass
- Rough – Turf type tall fescue
- Native – Fine fescue mixture
INTERNS WILL BE INVOLVED IN:
- Daily scheduling and executing the agronomic plan for the season
- Spraying and calibrating fertilizers and pesticides using best management practices
- Exposed to verticutting, aerifying, topdressing, irrigation repair, etc.
- Participates in daily manager meetings, weekly planning meetings, and budget oversight
- Learn water management for consistent playability
- Schedule watering needs using Toro Lynx software
- Hands-on with daily mowing, course setup, small projects, etc.
- Working with an experienced management team along with a staff of around 30 individuals
- Will be involved with all communication among the team
- Small projects management
- Included in ongoing yearly capital projects
- New golf management facility opened in Spring of 2024

Management team represents 5 different Turfgrass Management Programs
Educational Requirements
Enrolled or planning to enroll in a Turfgrass Management program or related program to earn a bachelor's degree or associate degree and/or certificate programs.
Experience Requirements
Golf course management experience is preferred but not required. We are looking for positive attitudes, honest, dependable people who have a high standard of excellence.
Special Requirements
Our intern must be a humble team player with a passion for the business who desires to learn to manage the tournament conditions every day. He/she must always show proper etiquette and professionalism while seeking to absorb as much experience as possible. Upon the completion of the internship, the opportunity for full-time employment is possible.
