Assistant Superintendent
The Legends at Chateau Elan is a privately owned club within the Chateau Elan community. The property is located in Braselton Georgia which is 45 miles north east of Atlanta. The Denis Griffiths designed course has Champion Bermuda greens and 419 tees, fairways and roughs. The course averages nearly 19 thousand rounds a year and has a membership of 350 full golf members. The assistant supt. will be responsible for managing all aspects of golf course maintenance and will work closely with the Superintendent and Director of Agronomy. The position requires working only one weekend per month on average. There is room for career advancement for the right individual. A person who is passionate about the game is a huge plus.
Educational Requirements
A 2 to 4 year turf related degree is required. Applicant must have a least 2 years of golf course maintenance experience. Prior management experience is a plus. Person must have a Georgia Pesticide applicators license or obtain with 1 year. This position requires close attention to detail, working knowledge of fertilizer and chemical application, calibration and record keeping. Knowledge of irrigation trouble shooting and repair. Strong leadership ability by demonstrating a hands on approach. Applicant will be responsible for daily scheduling, staff training and monitoring. The assistant supt. will be involved in golf course improvement projects and planning. Again, the position will be involved in all aspects of managing and maintaining the golf course.
Experience Requirements
A minimum of 2 years experience.
Special Requirements
Applicant should be able to manage a staff of 12 and be a multi task oriented person. Punctuality and attention to detail are an absolute necessity. Must have a strong, leader by example attitude.
