The Golf Clubs at the Tribute is an incredibly unique property. Home of the Tribute Golf Links and Old American Golf Club. Both courses are placed along the shores of Lake Lewisville and are filled with scenery and nature. Sense 2020 the Tribute Golf Links has been operated by ownership and play combined with Old American as one Club with one Membership. These two courses provide our players with a variety of difficulty and options. This is a great opportunity for a first time Superintendent to make that next step in their career.
Job Description
The Golf Course Superintendent will lead the maintenance department and work in conjunction with the Director of Agronomy. The Superintendent will direct the daily operations of the golf course and surrounding areas including but not limited to native area, club house grounds, gardens, and flower beds.
The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Monitors daily golf course set up, inspection, and evaluation.
- Inspects all areas for quality standards.
- Supervision of employees.
- Schedules and conducts safety and staff meetings.
- Conducts inventory controls: chemical, irrigation, fertilizer, topdressing, construction materials.
- Assists with budget preparation. Provides input and cooperates with the Director of Agronomy in preparation of the annual operating budgets.
- Training of new and existing employees: job function, equipment operation, safety requirements, safety training and departmental information.
- Agronomic programming and implementation: fertilization, chemical, and cultural practices.
- Final daily course evaluation/inspection.
- Work closely with Director of Agronomy and employees to maintain a positive work environment including communication, training, discipline, and evaluations.
- Communicates with other departments in relationship to events.
- Evaluation of products and service relative to present and future needs.
- Enforce Clubs policies/procedures for staff.
- Provide conflict resolution and counseling to employees.
- Participates in safety management meetings and ensures enforcement with staff.
- Performs department tasks; interviewing, hiring, and discharge of employees.
- Recommends and provides significant input regarding all staff on hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, and other employment changes needed.
- Ensures that the department is operated in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws.
Educational Requirements
· Degree or Certificate from accredited College or University
· Experience managing Bermuda grass greens in the transition zone.
· Effective communication and organizational skills
