Rolling Green Golf Club

Established in 1926, Rolling Green Golf Club is a nationally acclaimed golf club with rich architectural and tournament history. For almost 100 years, the club's goal has been to make the game of golf central and paramount to everything else. Rolling Green is known for its challenging green complexes, which are sure to test golfers of every skill level. The club is a proud supporter of local and national competition, having hosted two USGA national championships (1976 U.S. Women's Open, 2016 U.S. Women's Amateur), multiple Golf Association of Philadelphia majors, as well as the 2021 Forme Tour Rolling Green Championship.

What's New at RG?

Over the 2021-2023 seasons, Rolling Green Golf Club teamed up with Hanse Design to restore the course's 1926 William Flynn design back to its original architectural intention. Over the past 3 seasons, Rolling Green made numerous improvements to the golf course's infrastructure and architectural value, including:

  • Full-Course Bunker Restoration to Better Billy Bunker subsurface drainage
  • Full-Course Reconstruction of All Tee Boxes
  • 4 Acres of Poa/Bent Fairway Expansions
  • Expansions to all Putting Greens Surfaces
  • 3 Newly Constructed USGA Specification Greens
  • 2 Newly Constructed Greens Nurseries (1 Poa, 1 Bent)
  • Bermudagrass Installation on Driving Range Tee
  • Irrigation System Expansions & Upgrades

The RGGC Green's Department has also overhauled its Capital Equipment fleet over the past 2 seasons with numerous additions and upgrades:

  • All Transportation Vehicles- Cushman Electric Watering Carts, John Deere Crew Gators, John Deere Utility Vehicles, and Kubota Mechanic's Utility Vehicle
  • New John Deere Boom Sprayers, Equipped with OnLink GPS Guidance & Autosteering
  • All Mowing Units- New John Deere Fairway Mowing Units, Rough & Intermediate Mowing Units, Triplexes, Walk Greens Mowers, Walk Approach Mowers, Walk Tee Mowers, and Rotary Mowers.
  • New Mini-Excavator, Skidsteer, Topdresser, Bunker Rakes, Rak-O-Vac Sweepers,  and Steiner Compact Tractor

 

RGGC Internship Program

Rolling Green Golf Club's Greens Department is seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and career-driven student leaders to join our team as part of our Summer Internship Program. Our Greens Department is dedicated to and prides itself in the training, development, and advancement of our Interns during our time with us and well beyond.

As an intern at Rolling Green, you will be fully immersed in our management operation- including, but not limited to, crew scheduling, IPM Program & spray applications, manual irrigation & hand-watering programs, pest identification, budgeting, and communications. Additional, unique project opportunities for the 2025 season include:

  • Operation & Programming of our new John Deere OnLink GPS Sprayers.
  • GPS Mapping of golf course following new construction, including as-built irrigation system, drainage, and utilities GPS mapping.
  • Expansion of irrigation system coverage and drainage infrastructure.

 

Educational Requirements

Our Internship Program is geared towards students currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year Turfgrass Management program. However, we are open to accepting applicants whom are soon to be enrolled in a Turfgrass Management program or looking for work experience prior to enrollment.

Experience Requirements

Previous experience working on a golf course or in landscaping is preferred, but not required.
