2nd Assistant Superintendent
Lancaster Country Club is seeking motivated individuals to become a part of their management team. LCC is identified as a platinum club of America and serves as a premier 27 hole private facility located in central PA. On a 427 acre property, the championship 18 hole “Old” course was designed by William Flynn and is consistently ranked among the top 10 in the state and currently is within the top 100 classic courses of the United States. The additional nine holes known as Highlands is a links style layout used in rotation with one of the Flynn nines on occasion. In 2015 and 2024, the old course played host to the United States Women's Open with record breaking attendance and reviews. The club has recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation to facilities including a practice green and driving range renovations along with a complete bunker renovation to the Old course. Additional course renovations to Highlands and construction within the maintenance facility is scheduled in the near future. LCC is committed to championship golf and will play host to the GAP Open and Compher Cup in 2026 along with future national events on the horizon.
The position will work closely with the management team to conduct everyday tasks while providing championship conditions on a daily basis. Tasks will include but are not limited to: Daily course setup, water management, pest & disease identification, chemical and fertilizer calibration/applications and weekly turf informational sessions. In addition, candidates will gain valuable experience in managing, planning, and execution towards all facets of becoming a successful Golf Course Superintendent while having a lot of fun along the way. Focus is placed on preparing successful hires for the next step that doesn't just include operations; candidates will be exposed to club functions including committee meetings, local/state/national association meetings, volunteering for professional tournaments annually and becoming a part of a strong nationwide turf network. Educational Requirements
Two or four year turf related degree is required. Current college students with an upcoming graduation date are encouraged to apply.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of two years golf course experience or summer internships is required.
Special Requirements
Candidates must be self- motivated with a willingness to learn and strong desire to become a Golf Couse Superintendent. Ability to speak Spanish and a high golf IQ is a bonus. Must be able to obtain a PA pesticide license within 90 days.
