Superintendent-in-Training
Laurel Valley Golf Club, designed by architect Dick Wilson and renovated by Arnold Palmer is located in Ligonier, Pennsylvania (1 hour east of Pittsburgh). Since its opening Laurel Valley Golf Club has hosted the 1975 Ryder Cup, 1965 PGA Championship, and 2023 Arnold Palmer Cup is currently seeking motivated, hard-working, and determined individuals who have a desire to learn and advance in the golf course industry. The ideal candidate would be one who is looking to eventually become a golf course superintendent. This position will work hand in hand with the Director of Agronomy & Grounds, Golf Course Superintendent, and Assistant Superintendents to provide championship level playing conditions and turf health on a daily basis. The Club is currently going through a Golf Course renovation (Starting in 2018); that includes currently rebuilding the entire 7th Hole, Rebuilding the 17th Hole, and Peters Road Corridor Project.
Position Responsibilities

- Proper Calibration of Sprayers and Fertilizer Spreaders
- Proper Plant Protectant Application
- Water Management
- Equipment Operation
- Course Setup
- Irrigation Maintenance
- Cultural Practices (aerification, topdressing, etc.)
- Lead Small Crews
Educational Requirements
-Graduate or currently enrolled in Turfgrass Management Degree
Experience Requirements
- Experience preferred but not required; willing to train the right individual
