GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT: DIABLO COUNTRY CLUB DIABLO, CADiablo Country Club sits on a remarkable stretch of land at the base of Mount Diablo. in the rolling hills of the East Bay region of San Francisco, CA. The Club’s golf course was originally designed by Jack Neville in 1915, expanded to 18 holes by William Watson a few years later before they went on to design Pebble Beach and The Olympic Club. The course was fully renovated and restored by Todd Eckenrode in 2020, The original and masterful routing remains, and the result ranked #18 in the “Best Courses In California” list and one of the “50 Best In The West” by GOLF Magazine. The fully renovated green complexes are established in the latest bentgrass varieties, with all other turf converted to drought-tolerant bermudagrasses. A state-of-the-art irrigation system was installed, and more than 35 acres of land were turned into native areas that require little to no water. This was part of a $34 million project to the Club’s historic clubhouse and surrounding facilities.

Educational Requirements
A minimum of a 2 year degree in Turfgrass Management or a related field
Experience Requirements
3 years experience as a golf course superintendent or in a management position at a high end facility
