The Snake River Sporting Club is nestled along the Snake River, just 19 miles from Jackson Hole. The club sits higher than the river itself and offers breathtaking views of the Snake River Canyon and surrounding mountain ranges. Jackson Hole offers something for anyone who loves the outdoors. The Snake River Sporting Club: Golf Course is a private course, built on a 1980’s cattle ranch, by Tom Weiskopf. SRSC has USGA sand greens with A4 bentgrass. Dwarf-bluegrass encompasses the approaches, fairways and tees. SRSC measures just over 7,500 yards from the tips and opened as the #2 New Private Course in the US in 2007 (Golf Digest). SRSC is currently the 2nd ranked golf course in the state of Wyoming, with a commitment from membership and owners to retake the #1 ranking in the state. Golfweek rated SRSC #69 Best: Residential Courses, 2022. As well as a world class golfing experience, SRSC also provides amenities such as: fly fishing, kayaking, archery, clay shooting, hunting, horseback riding, pool, spa, clay tennis court, ice skating, Winter terrain park, tubing hill, Nordic skiing and paddle tennis.
Responsibilities
- Assist in all aspects of daily golf course maintenance and operation.
- Ensuring the playability of the course is up to the high standards we require.
- Identifying, evaluating, and recommending corrective action for agronomic problem areas, including funguses, pests, and drainage issues.
- Consult with superintendent and Senior assistant daily to plan and supervise crew member tasks and maintenance of golf course.
- Instruct crew members on proper equipment operation.
- Manage crew members during projects.
- Inspect irrigation systems, identify issues, and implement corrective action.
- Conduct and oversee fertilizer and chemical applications.
- Prioritize tasks in order of importance, etc.
- Assist with safety programs, training, and record keeping
- Conducting the morning job assignments and meetings.
- Execute the daily and weekly schedules for the crew.
- Understanding of and ability to utilize golf course software applications such as EZLocator, Task Tracker, TDR Fieldscout, Playbooks Coverage, Drones, and camera work.
Educational Requirements
2 or 4-year Turfgrass degree or a degree in a related field is preferred
Experience Requirements
Applicant must have:
· 1-3 years golf course experience
· Pesticide calculation, calibration and application experience
· Experience managing small crews
· Irrigation experience a plus, but not required
· Valid Driver License
· Ability to obtain a Wyoming Pesticide License within 90 days
· Experience operating golf course equipment
Willingness to use Google Translate in lieu of Spanish proficiency
Special Requirements
Applicant must be able to lift 50+ lbs frequently, walk, stand, bend, kneel, crouch regularly. Must have the ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
