Assistant Superintendent
I'm looking for two types of individuals either someone who wants to get their first management experience as a first assistant and move on in 3 years to a bigger course or someone who is looking to slow down a bit and finish out a career with good retirement and benefits. You will get a lot of experience in spraying, and irrigation repairs, and manage a small team of 6-10 employees. General Statement of Duties: Serves as crew leader for specified golf course maintenance projects. The position also
requires the performance of manual labor and operation of a variety of equipment to support the City’s golf
course maintenance and repair operations. This position reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent.
Experience Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Graduation from high school or possession of a GED; and
• Knowledge of turf management and/or irrigation system design; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities
necessary to perform the work.
Knowledge of:
Golf course maintenance principles and practices
• Golf course equipment maintenance and repair including small engine repair and lubrication points
• An understanding of automated irrigation system principles and practices
• Proper lifting techniques and personal protective equipment used in the operation of hand and power tools
Ability to:
• Operate mowing and aeration equipment
• Read and understand blueprints and irrigation drawings and designs
• Train employees in safety rules, regulations, and guidelines
• Understand and follow effective safety practices and procedures
Special Requirements
Other Requirements:
All candidates are required to pass the following to be considered for the above position:
• Ability to pass a background check, driving record check, and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
• Possession of a driver’s license issued by the State of Idaho
• Must obtain pesticide applicators licensure within 6 months of employment
• Obtain a Class B CDL issued by the State of Idaho within 6 months of employment
Job Benefits
SALARY: $3,456.27 per month plus a generous benefit package including: Persi retirement , medical, dental, and
vision, and paid vacation/sick leave .
