2nd Assistant Superintendent
Shadow Valley Country Club is pursuing an ambitious, positive, and career focused individual to help take operations to its next level. Shadow Valley is a true private country club (opened in 2001) located in the expanding and thriving economies of Northwest Arkansas, particularly Rogers. We consist of an 18-hole championship quality golf course, tennis and pickleball courts, fitness center, parks, and athletic fields. The property stretches across 540 acres, all of which we have parts to maintain. As the Shadow Valley property continues to develop with more residential homes, it paves the way for the golf course to make proper improvements to bunkers, drainage, green and tee complexes, and irrigation updates. Shadow Valley is a place that allows its employees to display their skills and knowledge along with providing more learning opportunities.
The responsibilities and essential job duties of this position are the following, but not limited to:
· Fertilizer/Pesticide applications
· Golf Course/ POA weekly cultural practices
· Employee management = managing a crew of employees
· Collaborating with Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent
· Basic equipment repair = sharping reels, setting height of cut, filter changes, etc.
· Irrigation diagnoses and repair (golf course and landscape)
· Weekly project planning
· Training Employees = equipment, employee handbook, course conditions, job standards
· Decision making skills
· Eye for details
· Construction renovation design and layout
· Prep for golf tournaments
· Initiative
· Able to lift over 80lbs frequently for the length of work day
Required to work on certain weekends and most holidays
Educational Requirements
- Certificate or degree in turf/related field is preferred, but not a determining factor.
- Current college students with expected graduation date are strongly encouraged to apply.
- 2 - plus years of experience in managerial role considered as education.
- Ability to obtain pesticide license.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 -2 years experience in operations and supervision ( internship hours count).
