Webbs Reserve is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Equipment Manager. Webbs is an 18-hole championship golf course, newly grown-in and designed by Nicklaus Design located in the Babcock Ranch Community of Fort Myers/ Punta Gorda Florida area. Brand new Toro equipment fleet with Club Car maintenance carts and Kubota tractors.
We are currently building our Golf Course Maintenance shop with anticipated completion in spring 2025. Everything will be new.
Overview
The equipment manager reports to the golf course superintendent and/or the assistant golf course superintendent and oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for the golf course assets. This program includes the diagnostics and repair of failing equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service. The equipment manager properly communicates any needs or problems relating to the maintenance or repair of equipment to the superintendent and/or the assistant superintendent, and schedules and directs the work assignments of the assistant equipment manager. The equipment manager places safety as a top priority and is responsible for maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building.
Essential Duties:
- Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment, including, diesel-, electric- and gasoline-powered automobiles, trucks, trenchers, sweepers, rollers, mowers, and other mechanical equipment used in utility work
- Instructs and/or trains golf course maintenance workers regarding preventive maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment.
- Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work.
- Maintains a preventive maintenance program within budget on all equipment, and purchases repair parts and replacement supplies.
- Keeps a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs and preventive maintenance for all equipment.
- Spot checks equipment for performance on the course, makes emergency repairs to equipment on the course, and services or supervises servicing of equipment prior to use.
- Regulates employees' use of equipment in absence of superintendent and assistant superintendent, if needed, and performs other duties as directed by the superintendent.

Knowledge of the theory, care and operation of internal combustion engines, hydraulic systems and
mowing equipment maintenance such as grinding, sharpening and adjustment. - Diagnoses mechanical troubles and schedules appropriate preventative maintenance work.
- Organizes and maintains a clean and safe maintenance area.

Assists the Manager in interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work,
evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving
problems. -
Assists in the management of department members that may include, but is not limited to: Assistant
Mechanics. -
Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Assists in developing
ongoing training programs. - Regular and reliable attendance.
Education/Experience:

Certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination and experience. Experience managing personnel.
Physical Demands:

Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, crouches or
crawls. Occasionally sits, climbs or balances. Regularly talks or hears. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds
and occasionally may lift up to100 pounds.
Environment/Noise:

Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather); with toxic or caustic materials; in extreme
cold or heat (non-weather); may experience vibration. Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions
and may face the risk of electrical shock or encounter fumes or airborne pathogens. Frequently works in
areas near moving mechanical parts. Noise level is loud.

Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the
associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the
manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English). - Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
