Turf Equipment Technician
Responsible for the maintenance, trouble shooting, repair and management of all equipment used to maintain the golf course and grounds : relevant job functions specifically include but are not limited to reel sharpening, adjusting/grinding mowers, and blade sharping and replacement.
Responsible for all records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment including, but not limited to, a preventive maintenance log, parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, and cost of repairs.
Responsible for records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service.
Maintains equipment to prevent the chance of hydraulic leaks.
Spot checks equipment for performance and makes emergency repairs on the property. Ability to program and read/diagnostic boxes on mowers, sprayers, etc.
Organizes the equipment repair and storage facilities.
Instructs equipment operators on the safe use, care, and proper cleaning methods of all equipment. Trains staff on proper equipment maintenance including greasing, checking fluid levels, etc. Assists in training employees on the safe and effective ways to operate machinery.
Regulates employees' use of equipment in absence of the Maintenance Supervisor as needed.
Assists the Maintenance Supervisor's team in the daily planning of golf course maintenance especially as it relates to the equipment being used.
Attends continuing educational programs ( turf conferences, equipment shows, and workshops ) to maintain a current knowledge of turf innovations and industry changes that could affect the department's operation.
Able to perform any needed Golf Course Maintenance functions including : mowing requirements, bunker raking, verti - cutting ,aerification, topdressing, irrigation system repairs and operation, and operating the chemical sprayers.
Golf Shop cart fleet and driving range equipment repairs and service.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
High School Graduate.
Experience Requirements
Previous Golf Course Maintenance Service Tech repair experience.
Special Requirements
Must have own equipped tools, and toolbox to perform Golf Course equipment repairs.
