Assistant Superintendent
Brooklawn Country Club has an A.W. Tillinghast designed golf course and is one of the oldest clubs in the State of Connecticut. Having hosted 5 USGA national championships (most recently the US Senior Women's Open in 2021), Brooklawn has a long and storied history in competitive golf. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude, possess a willingness to learn and share ideas, exhibit strong team-building characteristics, and have a desire to further themselves in the turf industry. The assistant superintendent will assist the superintendent and senior assistant superintendent in all facets of grounds management, including crew leadership, crew training, record keeping, spray and fertilizer applications, as well as irrigation application and repair. Employees are encouraged to attend yearly seminars and conferences held by local and regional associations and should consider continued education a condition of employment. Our goal as an institution is to help train and prepare assistant superintendents for their next steps professionally, while promoting a team oriented work environment.
Educational Requirements
Completion Certificate, or 2 - 4 year degree is preferred, but not necessarily required. An elevated knowledge of golf and turf science is paramount. We are willing to work with and train a candidate with the right attitude.
Experience Requirements
3-5 years in turf industry, preferably as a second assistant or similar.
Special Requirements
Ability to obtain CT pesticide license within 90 days. Valid driver's license.
