Assistant Superintendent
Cedarbrook Country Club is looking to add a highly motivated individual to help our operation with the continued elevation of its 18-hole golf course, clubhouse grounds and practice facilities including tennis, pickleball and bocce courts. Cedarbrook sits on a 200 acre property in the heart of Blue Bell, PA (30 mins north of Philadelphia) with a well routed golf course, great elevation changes and the Wissahickon Creek coming into contact with 6 holes. Although the club originated in 1909, The William Mitchell design opened in Blue Bell in 1962 after moving from it’s A.W. Tillinghast design in Cheltenham, PA which was also renovated by Donald Ross. One of our goals is to reconnect the current property with the old property.
Our family-oriented club has grown exponentially in the past 4 years with 325 full active golf and 475 variation of house memberships with a waiting list of 100+.
The William Mitchell design is beginning to receive a facelift with the club creating and implementing a Master Plan with Jaeger Kovich of Proper Golf along with LaBar Golf Renovations. Phases 1 and 2 were completed in falls/early winter of 2022 and 2023. We are currently in the planning stages of the next Phase(s).

· Rebuilding of greens.
· XGD installation in greens and other extensive drainage.
· CapCon lined bunkers.
· Phasing in of Rainbird 2-wire irrigation system.
· Watertronic Pump installation installed early 2023.
· Continued Tree Management (in house and contracted).
· Rebuilding of Tees.
· Fairway Expansions.
· Cart Path work.
· Streambank stabilization.
· Continued Fine Fescue ‘Natural’ Area establishment.
· New maintenance facility.
Club Highlights:
· Predominately Poa greens.
· Bentgrass/Poa fairways.
· Bentrgrass Tees.
· Mixed rough of Tall Fescue, Poa, Ryegrass, Fine Fescue.
· 24,500 rounds per year.
· 325 Golf Members, 470 variations of House Members.
· Family Oriented Club.
· Maintenance Budget- $2,000,000+
· Equipment- mix of Toro, John Deer and Jacobsen.
· Staff Size- 12 full time, 10-12 seasonal.
The Assistant Superintendent will work with Superintendent and Assistants in the maintenance and progression of the property including projects, water management, fertility and pesticide management and cultural practices. We strive for the best work/life balance as we can. We are here when we need to be and home when we don’t need to be here. Early Spring, Late Fall and Winter would work every 3rd weekend and every other weekend in the late Spring, Summer and early Fall. Also, we are very flexible with needed time off/vacation. Typical Work week is 50-55 hours.

Educational Requirements:
Certificate, Associates or Bachelors from a Turf/Golf Course Management Program. Current students expecting to graduate in 2025 encouraged to apply.
Experience Requirements:
· Construction/renovation experience a plus, but not required.
· Water management of surfaces mentioned in job description to achieve healthy surfaces that play to the best of their ability daily.
· Management of 20+ diverse crew of different ages, genders, and ethnicities to present the best golf course possible in the most efficient way possible.
· Ability to cross train staff on different machinery to keep staff engaged and enthusiastic about doing different tasks daily.
· Detailed oriented.
· Good communicator.
· Good organizational and prioritization skills.
· Ability to work independently to carry out written and verbal instructions.
· Ability to multitask completing task and prioritize work.
· Ability to visually inspect golf course and clubhouse grounds.
· Well versed in Microsoft office and other software pertaining to golf course management.
· Posses or ability to posses a PA Pesticide Applicator License within 90 days of hire.
· Drivers License.
· Ability to work in elements of rain, cold and heat.
· Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
