Turf Equipment Technician

1757 Golf Club, Northern Virginia's premier golf destination, is seeking a skilled Golf Course Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This critical role ensures our golf course maintenance equipment operates at peak performance to maintain the pristine conditions our members and guests expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair and provide all required preventive maintenance on all equipment associated with Course Maintenance Department.
- Solely responsible for the quality of cut at the golf facility.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance and repairs on golf course equipment, including mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, and small engines.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues to ensure timely and efficient repairs.
- Maintain accurate service records for all equipment.
- Assist in the inventory management of tools, parts, and supplies.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent and maintenance team to prioritize equipment needs and ensure availability during peak usage periods.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations during repairs and equipment handling.
- Lubricates and services all course maintenance equipment.
- Inspects equipment for operating deficiencies.
- Inspects equipment daily to ensure that all cutting adjustments are perfect.
- Repairs and adjusts equipment.
- Maintains repair records on all equipment.
- Establishes and maintains safety procedures for using equipment.
- Performs general overhaul and other preventive maintenance on all equipment.
- Maintains blades of reel mowers.
- Maintains inventory of common equipment maintenance and repair parts.
- Undertakes body and fender work, fabrication, welding, troubleshooting and repairs to hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Communicates and reports any needs or problems relating to course equipment.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Ensure that all traffic lanes are kept clear.
- Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Golf Course Director / Golf Course Superintendent.
- Maintains the mechanic’s shop area in a clean, organized, and safe fashion daily.
Educational Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Certification in equipment maintenance or small engine repair.
- Graduate of a vocational technical school or post-secondary training in small engine repair or mechanics.
Experience Requirements
- Four to six years of experience as a mechanic.
- Golf repair equipment experience.
- Familiarity with golf course operations and equipment usage.
- Knowledge of turf maintenance practices and equipment calibration.
