Assistant Superintendent
Established in 1921 Cedar Hill is a private, family friendly club located in Livingston, NJ. Cedar Hill is looking for a highly motivated individual to add to our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about golf course maintenance, advancing their career within our industry. and meeting the needs and expectations of the CHCC membership. They must work well within a team environment, have a good work ethic, and positive attitude.
Cedar Hill has renovated 3 Greens in the past five years with our architect Robert McNeil, with our last being completed October 2024 set to open in the 2025 Season. The club remains dedicated to investing in the golf course with new incoming equipment, and plans for an irrigation upgrade on the Horizon. We are continually doing "in-house" improvements to raise our memberships experience.
The right candidate will work closely with the Superintendent on all aspects of course maintenance. The assistants position at Cedar Hill will be "hands on" and very inclusive.
Educational Requirements
- Potential candidate must have a minimum 2 years experience in turf industry
- Turf certificate or 2 or 4 year degree in turf related field

Experience Requirements
- Possess a strong attention to detail and knowledge base for the daily maintenance of a golf course including, but not limited to hand watering, operating and troubleshooting of a Toro irrigation system, record keeping, IPM measures, equipment operation and golf course set up.
- Necessary to work flexible schedule based on the needs of course in all weather conditions
- Planning and implementing cultural practices for all playing surfaces
- Effective scheduling of daily jobs to crew is vital to maximize time
- Effectively communicate with employees and clubhouse personnel to keep an open line of communication and understanding of the status of the golf course.
- Accurately perform chemical and fertilizer applications to all golf course entities including greens, tees, fairways, bunker faces, roughs, natives and landscape areas
Special Requirements
Must obtain NJ Pesticide License within 90 Days of Hire
Horticulture or Landscape/ Planting Experience a plus
