Golf Course Superintendent
Rock Manor is an 18-hole, daily facility located in Wilmington Delaware. The club was totally renovated in 2007 under the guidance of renowned golf course architect Lester George, transforming it from 5,779-yard course into a 6,405-championship layout. It has been voted “Best Public Course” in Delaware on numerous occasions and is considered the premier public facility in the Wilmington area.
Ideal candidates have a genuine passion for agronomic practices and maintenance management. As Golf Course Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and agronomic practices of the golf course and adjacent grounds, including the clubhouse landscaping and maintenance. Responsibilities also include overseeing the repair and maintenance of all golf course-related equipment. Previous supervisory experience is a requirement for the position.
Educational Requirements
- Associate’s degree or Certificate in Agronomy
- GCSAA Membership in Good Standing
Experience Requirements
- 5+ Years of Golf Course Management Experience Required with Progressing Responsibility
- Knowledge of Local and Federal Regulatory Compliance Associated with Golf Course Management
- Knowledge of Maintaining Budgets and Effectively Managing Crew
- Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
- Highly Organized, Motivated and Efficient with a Strong Attention to Detail
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills are Critical
- Priority Focus on Daily Setup, Moisture Management and Playability
- Must Obtain a Delaware Pesticide License Within 60 Days of Hire
- Previous supervisory experience is required but qualified assistant superintendents will be strongly considered
