Assistant Superintendent

Orange County National is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Superintendent to join our team.  This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or seasoned Assistants to gain experience in golf course management in Central Florida. The assistant will be heavily involved in day-to-day operations as well as any upcoming projects/course improvements.

Orange County National is a 45-hole facility located minutes from Disney World.  We currently have Champion Ultradwarf greens on 36 holes (Panther Lake and Crooked Cat), Tifdwarf on the Tooth 9 and Tifeagle on the practice greens (planted 2024).  OCN is the annual host of the PGA Merchandise Show "Demo Day".  The facility has hosted numerous Q-schools for the PGA/Champions Tour as well as a LIV Golf event in 2023.  

The Assistant will work closely with Superintendent and be involved in all aspects of course maintenance.

 

Educational Requirements

The position requires a 2–4-year degree in Turfgrass Management or Turf Certificate from an accredited program preferred.

Experience Requirements

Candidate must have 4-5 years of experience in golf course maintenance with increased responsibility during that time.

Special Requirements

Candidate must have the ability to train new/current coworkers and lead by example.  Must have an eye for details and the drive/ability to get project started and completed.  Must be able to obtain a pesticide applicators license within 6 months of employment.
