Golf Course Superintendent

Full-time

Lake Barkley State Resort Park is in Western Kentucky near Cadiz Kentucky.  This Larry Packard designed 18-hole golf course (Boots Randolph Golf Course) has USGA greens converted in summer of 2020 to Tifeagle Ultradwarf bermudagrass.  Tees, fairways and primary rough are Tifway II bermudagrass and secondary rough is warm and cool season grasses.  An exciting project in motion is the complete restoration/mitigation of Blue Spring Creek, a beautiful spring fed creek that drains the entire surrounding area through the golf course into Lake Barkley.  Not only will this creek be an environmental masterpiece, but it will also enhance several of the golf holes.  This project nearing completion is being led by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife with close collaboration of the Department of Parks Golf Staff.  Another exciting project in the works is a complete replacement of the irrigation system, which is in the design phase.    More info about the course can be found at:  https://parks.ky.gov/cadiz/golf/golf-course/lake-barkley-boots-randolph-golf-course
