ABOUT US 

Heather Hill Country Club is a 27-hole public golf course renowned for delivering top-tier greens and an accessible golf experience. We strive for excellence and are committed to continuous improvement. 

POSITION OVERVIEW 

  • Collaborate with Superintendent Seth Milton to uphold the highest possible agronomic standards.  Assistant will also help with projects at our sister course "Wentworth Hills Country Club " as needed .

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Course Maintenance & Turf Care 

  • Assist in planning/executing mowing, watering, fertilization, and aeration programs. 

  • Oversee irrigation, including troubleshooting and repairs. 

  • Staff Management 

  • Supervise and train grounds crew, ensuring safe and efficient operations. 

  • Agronomic Practices 

  • Assist with pesticide/fertilizer applications and maintain records. 

  • Monitor and advise on course conditions for top-quality playing surfaces. 

  • Help coordinate equipment upkeep,

Educational Requirements

  • Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred but not required
  • Current and future graduates of the UMass Amherst Winter School for Turf Managers are encouraged to apply.
  • High School Graduate or GED required

Experience Requirements

  • Golf course/turf management background preferred
  • Experience  with the management of high performance turf
  • Experience with operating a wide range of turf  equipment
  • Experience with operating golf course specific equipment such as triplex greens mowers , aerators etc.

Special Requirements

  •  Some knowledge of irrigation systems and modern turf care techniques  

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. 

  • Willingness to work weekends/holidays, as needed. 

  • Applicant must be capable of working independently  

  • Ability to obtain a pesticide applicator’s license within 60 days of hire date 

Job Benefits

  • Hourly Wage: $25 – $28 (based on experience)
