Assistant Superintendent
The Architects Golf Club, located in Lopatcong, New Jersey is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic assistant superintendent to join our golf course maintenance team. The assistant superintendent will collaborate closely with the superintendent and other members of the management staff on all aspects of maintenance operations.
Established in 2001, the owners had a vision to open one of the most renowned 18 hole golf courses in the world, one that paid tribute to the great design styles of the game's most prolific architects. Together, they partnered with golf course architect Stephen Kay and Golf Digest Architectural Editor, Ron Whitten, to unveil New Jersey's only legacy course and name it, "The Architects Golf Club." The Architects embodies 70 years of great design styles and is the only course to offer a history lesson in golf course architecture as guests play through their round. Set alongside Warren County’s luscious, rolling hills, The Architects Golf Club is known for its links-style golf play and beautiful panoramic landscape views.
The assistant superintendent’s role encompasses a range of responsibilities including but not limited to: the overall maintenance and care of the golf course including turf/grass management, irrigation, chemical/fertilizer applications, and landscaping. The assistant superintendent supervises personnel and participates in the maintenance of golf course tees, greens, fairways, roughs, bunkers and cart paths to ensure high quality playing conditions. All supporting efforts in the overall maintenance of the property may also include tree work and the operation of small tools such as chainsaws, weed wackers and backpack blowers. The assistant superintendent must adhere to the golf maintenance budget and capital plans, and may serve in the superintendent’s capacity in his absence. The assistant superintendent reports to the superintendent and helps suggest improvements to the property and the manner in which those improvements are implemented.
