Spray/Applications Technician

Shrewsbury Landscapes, Inc. is seeking to hire an Application Technician to join our growing team. Shrewsbury Landscapes Inc., is a leading turf management service company serving the golf and sports turf industry in New England. Clients include colleges, universities, independent private schools, golf courses, and municipalities.
Shrewsbury Landscapes, Inc. provides a wide range of turf management services for both natural turf and synthetic turf playing surfaces. Our goal is to help clients maximize performance and deliver safe, aesthetically pleasing, playable turf conditions for the athlete.
Candidate will apply granular fertility and control products with tractor mounted application equipment and will operate other turf management equipment as may be required based on client demand. Candidate must have a thorough knowledge of turfgrass management; product application; equipment calibration and basic equipment operation/maintenance.
Educational Requirements
2-year turf management degree or equivalent is preferred but not required.
Experience Requirements
Prior golf course or sports turf management experience is preferred.
Special Requirements
Candidate must have a positive “can do” attitude; be a self-starter; and able to work alone or in a team setting.
Candidate must have the ability to work with other team members in a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Candidate must have a willingness to learn and expand turf management knowledge.
Candidate must have a valid driver’s license; a clean driving record; and be insurable by company’s insurance provider.
Candidate must be able to obtain a DOT medical card within 60 days of employment.
Ability to obtain a Massachusetts Pesticide Applicators License within 60 days of employment.
Candidate must have a willingness to obtain a Massachusetts Hoisting Engineers License (2A/1C)within 60 days of employment.
Candidate must be willing to work in all weather conditions.
Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Job Benefits
Full time position; Overtime after 40 hours; holidays; medical; 401-K; etc.
$35 to $40 per hour DOE. Estimated annual income $90,000 to $115,000, plus bonus.
